Yes, but WUMT is not mandatory. While the website does not work the background WU service works, if you set the the automatic updates. Just wait or trigger it with wuauclt.exe /detectnow
Whatever, is not the same 2016 version linked in the dedicated thread SHA256: 341F9FAC1CC86BA73419F6BDD75A8D6C21FFB9ABD5B898E818A1754C776C2CA8 the one working is SHA256: 8B89867754509F7727F5335C2CD2E5238E2C5B9627B7776F4FE6FE1D721B80B3
The version from the dedicated topic is the 01/2022 one. That one is from 2022 and too new (just came out). The released 12/2016 version is the last that works for NT5 kernels.
Let not discuss about an already solved problem, but even if a bit old I'm still able to check the timestamp of a file, and the first one is older than working version, both from 2016, not 2022.
Then it would be interesting where you got it from. The dedicated WUMT topic has a Google Drive link in the first post. That links delivers the 2022 version.
Obviously I didn't download from the first post, I looked for a 2016 one, because I already knew the 2022 was a no go. I spent 2 hrs downloading always the same (non working) 2016 version from links shared in the thread and a zillion of other places, then I surrended and I asked for help. Perhaps I needed it for w2k, so I supposed that the not working one was not working on w2k alone. Later I discovered that was not the case.
