    Thanks, I think I sort of get it now.

    Basically you think the pack I downloaded should cover at least:

    R1 Enterprise
    R1 Standard
    R2 Enterprise

    But you say the R2 Standard OEMBIOS files are unknown?

    I think I might have to find Enterprise R1 instead eh?

    I'm lost, sorry.

    I have the following:

    2003 Enterprise (SP0) - Trial
    2003 Standard R2 SP2 - Full

    What are my best options?

    I have HP OEM SLP on the computer.

    I need to clear the trial and activate this PC with HP OEM BIOS. It's Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP0 Trial.

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Use retail instead of Trial?
    Makes life easier

    Otherwise you try to create Frankenbuild

    Retail.
    You only need to replace oembios* set & add winnt.sif for convienience (so you do not need to type during install

    Test in Vmware (easiest)

    Not the setupp.ini?

    The one in retail has

    Code:
    [Pid]
    ExtraData=786F687170637175716954806365EF
    Pid=69713000

    the one in the HP OEM pack as I linked above has

    Code:
    [Pid]
    ExtraData=786F687170637175716954806365EF
    Pid=69713OEM

    Thanks for your continued support.

    I've finally got it installed now.

    I used to R2 OEMBIOS files, swapped the SetupPP.INI file and then using NLite, I stripped out some crap and set the product key to the R2 HP Ent OEM key.

    I also set the OEM information in the $OEM$/$$ folder.

    It's doing Windows Update now... 75 hotfixes :/ I wonder if there is an update pack available?? I've searched but the only project I found was discontinued...

    I lie, there is an active rollup pack project over at RyanVM by some guy called OnePiece however it looks to me a bit hammer to crack a nut and includes everything...

    Ah well, the server is updated now so shouldn't think I will need to install again. If this PC fails, it'll be a new one with Win 2008 instead haha!

    Thanks for your help.

    Guys,

    Further assistance needed.

    I've got the server up and running now and what not but R2 will not install. It asks for a serial key. The HP key is not working nor is the retail key.
    Any ideas?

    No it doesn't but I would have assumed it would have used the same key to install with?

    It's still working for Windows Updates etc so it's all good.

    Sebus, thanks for this little note and who provided CRC-D107C3EA. I got my cd last year but just recently installed it, using the key provided by m$. It later shows the 30days activation icon in the taskbar. I think I got an oem product which requires activation. I did search among posts here and tried the uploaded sets, ending up with activation error during the opening screen. I made another set, this time I just used the 4 oem* files from the archive mentioned, I'm ok with providing details thru the installation, and got it installed. I don't see the activation icon anymore. I haven't connect the pc to internet, but I'm sure it'll do just fine.
    again, thanks guys!

    Note:
    Just installed sp2 + 81 updates, no sign of the wpa keys icon. .. unfortunately, WGA does not cover Windows Server 2003, and can't run mgadiag tool.
    :)
