    Tito,

I also tried inserting the four oembios* files from dell R2 ( DELL-R2-99735910.rar md5 4ea2779d424a70f8d5136cf35b0bb91f) compressed overwriting existing ones, is there any additional steps needed to convert to OEM?

Well, you can use any VL key available.

Windows Server 2003 R2 Datacenter is only available to download from MSDN/Technet as VL (same version that is on MS VL site)
Obviously OEM version must have existed as MS publishes own OEM SLP keys for OEM activation

But I never came across it such disk.

The files that make disk oem/retail or vl are:

    Amd64\DPCDLL.DL_
    Amd64\PID.DL_
    Amd64\PIDGEN.DLL
    Amd64\SETUPP.INI
    Amd64\SETUPREG.HIV
    i386\WPID.DL_
    i386\WPIDGEN.DL_

(plus of course oembios* set if going oem)

Obviously the problem is to get oem (retail) of SETUPREG.HIV (one which makes the install to be recognized as Datacenter )

Once I have the patched image files, can i go ahead and burn them?

I am using ImgBurn to burn and they are not showing up as bootable.

    Anything wrong?

    Thanks, in advance,

    Thanks Tito,

the other thing I'm a little confused about is how there are two disks. If i were to go ahead and burn them onto a CD, for example, will it prompt me for CD 2 eventually?

And they should appear as bootable, correct? Just wanted to make this clear.

    Thanks, in advance.

EDIT: CD 1 Does appear as bootable.

    Got It, Thank You.

As far as activation is concerned, Am I able to just use a key from the "Windows Server 2003 OEM Bios and OEM SLP Keys archive" thread?

Yah... basically you should use MS generic keys. The link is given in that post.
