Well, just not working for Datacenter, must only be a KMS_B But, accidentally found out something else... After entering the KMS key and not being able to activate, it went into 3-days mode and i also could reenter the 180day trial key. Since i had the full 6 rearms left i used one, everything reset nicely, and behold: I could enter the trial key again and it's back to 180days! So there's no real need for another activation anyway, 6 rearms 180days each makes for 3 years usablity. Oh well, sorted

If you use the remote KMS and it activates, then the server (you just activated) needs to connect to the KMS once in a while? to check if the key is still genuine?
Would you mind sharing what the trial key is? I tried the one found in sources\product.ini but it was rejected.

Cant activate I downloaded and installed en_windows_server_2008_r2_standard_enterprise_datacenter_and_web_x64_dvd_x15-59754. I selected the Datacenter version for testing. Ive followed the methods here via the cmd prompt and I cant seem to get it to activate. The error is "0xC004F074. The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer could not be activate. The Key Management Service is unavailable." Does anyone have a key I can use or maybe give me advice on what im doing wrong? Do i need to redownload a different copy that is a trial version? (i hope not Thanks so much.
Hi, I just tried this out. I found a KMS key for Server 2008 enterprise (screenshot from one post in this 4rum). Entered everything, then activated, stated to be genuine Server. Seem to work well. Thank you for this post !!!
