    Hi,

I´m running a server 2008 SP2 Enterprise with a serial Key taken from Dreamspark. It was successfully activated, but from a couple of days and don´t know exactly the reason ( i didn´t change hardware ) has been deactivated. The thing is i can´t do phone activation ( confirmation id does not match installation id .. etc .. ).

My question is if i still can run the server without automatic upgrades or i can expect enter in reduced functionality or something other funny behavior from Microsoft :(

    Thanks a lot in advance

Ofcourse it will go to reduced functionality mode. Did you tried phone activation in a way it should be.

I tried phone activation at least 3 times. But in all cases the confirmation id given by the Microsoft guys was the same and didn´t work with the installation id i have. Last time support told me that someone from Microsoft can look at it but it will have cost associated

What i have heard is that Microsoft removed reduced functionality mode from Vista and Server 2008 from SP1. I´m not sure if it is true but at this moment i only have a reminder telling me that i can not receive updates. At least i can survive without updates .... Is that true

    Best Regards !

There are MAK keys which will allow only one time activation.
