Annoying "system requirements not met" now appears in the main System page, too.

    This one?
    Code:
    [01] 04/10/2023 en-US x64 10.0.25398.469 Windows Server 2022 Datacenter | ServerDatacenter
Installs fine on an unsupported VM.

Wondering if some new checks are in at least the installer for this latest build. Finding it /incredibly slow/ to try to get to the installer on some machines. Yet ones with virtually the same spec and less RAM will manage fine.

For me fast installation on new Samsung SSD. Even on a hard and slow HDD, the installation goes at a satisfactory speed.

Well there was definitely some kind of change in the last codebase/codename switch because even upgrading to builds newer than the previous set or DISM (eg 25977 itself) results in an endless bootscreen on certain older hardware. Seems to be true for W11 builds too (although lite versions seem unaffected), wonder what it was...

Ah, so, they are speaking about the latest builds as Host, not Guest. That explains. However, we were told countless times that software compatibility is not guaranteed to any degree when using these builds. Everything can break, and you can't blame anyone for that, just report the problems.

Except informing people that it IS a problem and IS from the Microsoft side here is also a thing I can and have done.

It's not the "that" (thanks for that) but the "how". Telling people about a problem without fully knowing the context can backfire. Running latest Insider Server inside a VM is not a problem (well, at least not more than usual), running it under Windows 7 and it works mostly fine.

These type of things are to be expected, as everything's very hot and can change anytime. Insider builds are a moving target. Warning is OK and encouraged, but it should be a clear warning or it could confuse people.

They screwed a lot of people with that move, and the last version without hardening (4.2.16 IIRC) was still very popular long time after.
