I tried booting from NVME [0] on Raspberry Pi 5 but didn't get it to work (stuck on boot logo). Works fine inside ESXi on the Pi 5 though, pretty fast too. VMware's vmxnet3 driver works, but svga driver bootloops. [0]: github.com/worproject/rpi5-uefi/issues/2#issuecomment-2016505218
Yup, I did use that version, that's why I linked to the post explaining how it supposedly works with it (with Win11 release build anyway). I've had so many SD cards getting worn out and fail on me over the years with my Raspberry Pi builds that I'll try to avoid it as best as I can. Not going to spend much time on this though as I don't really consider Raspberry Pi a stable platform for running Windows, unfortunately. For Arm64 I've got another Server install on a Surface Pro X and it works as well as you'd expect, with Hyper-V support as well.
Well you could try what happens with a USB disk, even a random mechanical one taking dust somewhere, just for the sake of the test
That last UEFI update made a huge upgrade to the stability of it in general. They've fixed whatever kept causing corruption and particularly with smartscreen killed and not much else, it's now very usable for non-GPU intense tasks.
Has anyone tried to start a recent build with bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off Seem it's ignored and Hyper-V stuff start anyway
Explorer seems to be more prone to random freezes for several seconds again in this build (PC, not Pi). Not sure what is going on but a spike in activity is easily seen in the taskmanager performance tab.
Hello! Is there any 26100 Server build available? If it's not it's probable to be reserved for it being RTM
If there would be ISOs released they would have been published already (there were no IP ISOs for client either, maybe next week).
I did a bit of testing with latest images, and I found that the latest one that can be reliably used is 26052. 26063 works only if it's an in place upgrade of a working system 26080/85/100 break the things even in that case. For sure there are hidden parameters to get the back behavior back, but until they are known, using a recent Win11/Server11 version is just masochism.
from 26052 to 26085, can't enter "disable driver signature enforcement" mode. can you check it? 26040 is ok.
Yes Even in 26100 I use a slightly modified inf and it works as usual. BUT with my VGA (a Radeon R7) I cant disable hyper-v using hypervisorlaunchtype off (or even renaming hvloader.dll). Either Hyper-V starts anyway, or the VGA driver doesn't load as it should
I wanted to follow up as I was finally able to take your suggestion. I found the image you used (I don't believe I was using the correct one) and was able to install over the top. Then I didn't realize my Insider was set to the stable build, not Canary, so I switched and I can now update my build through Windows Update. Thanks for your help!
What is this Azure Arc that boots with Server, do I need it running, and if not how can I prevent it from starting?
anyone else has problem with internet speed in build 26040 ? was a tweak: Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level : disabled
