Been working with computers since I could talk, but never really worked with a server environment. Grabbed 2012 R2 Datacenter from my father's MSDN account - currently have it installed in VMware Workstation with AD DS configured, and a virtual 7 Ultimate client joined to the domain.

That's where I'm stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction of things to play with in order to learn? Perhaps some good resources for DNS/DHCP configurations that start basic and expand on it? And of course scenarios I could set up in the virtual environment.

Many thanks to all responses in advance!

Look for some of the CBT Nuggets stuff. It's focused on the exam contents but will teach you all you need for basics.

Eh, dry is alright. I much prefer reading to watching a video. I can pick up anything as long as I can read it!
