Installs always need matching SLIC + CERT (when using SLP 2.1). Keys used do not matter for whatever you mean with clean install. So only SLIC + CERT MUST match, key doesn't.
the certificate must match the slic in the bios , without exception . you may use any brand key , but , the key must match the OS version . ie. if you use ultimate ,you must use an ultimate key ,but the key can be any make . most users try to match all three ,they feel its more authentic and less likely to show up if microsoft start to target this type of activation .
