    Can we not necro irrelevant ancient threads? @NST_Adventure ? Can you learn to look at the date of the first post or at least the last post before you necro-post?

  3. Well yeah, just not ten years late.

    Anyway, between two to five minutes for an ordinary shutdown? Nonsense. Mine's can shut down in under a minute (but I generally hibernate each day anyway, because it's more convenient).

    Reading around the net i often found these registry entrys that are suposed to help shutting down and restarting windows systems . Theres another one but i cant remember it at the moment . They sometimes work for me but not allways . At the moment i have problems with a program that wont let go when i restart or shut down my computer inspite of those settings . It maybe Open-Shell-Menu .

    "AutoEndTasks"="1"
    "HungAppTimeout"="1000"
    "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="1000"
    "LowLevelHooksTimeout"="1000"

    I take no responsibility and make no claims for those registry entrys . Its just what i read .

    All those tweaks only cause files not being saved at shutdown.

    Your pc needs time to cache .... Fast shut down not possible with older pc's and very iffy with some newer pc's too. Depends on the HDD/SDD and the boards speed bus, negating extra software still running in the background that your not aware of...
