how can I run this without installing anything to do with IE updates ??? I don't use that crap, never will. This will save me from un-installing it after setup. IE 11 updates also break the win7 gadgets I remember seeing and trying a cmd script that has a few different cmd files we could use with simplix to not install IE but i can't find it now
If IE was only a browser then you could do that. But, it sadly isn't. You need to install the latest IE and all security updates for it, even if you never use the browser UI. The underlying Trident browser engine is so deeply integrated into the system that you are using it daily without noticing (e. g. by working with Explorer windows),
You see, comrade, one does not simply not use microsoft product. *end of russian voice* Now, instead of plucking your hair over nonsense, just use the /ie11 switch, disable IE in programs and features after windows is installed and proceed to using/further modifying windows 7. A disabled IE11 impacts real world performance no more than you'd ever notice.
What was the download link to a collection of cmd bat file scripts to inject simplix to a windows7.iso it's kinda like UP7Integrator and has a few different scripts? Ex; using windows temp, using it's own temp folder, install with USB3, install without USB3, install w/o IE, install with IE...etc @Enthousiast I think you posted it somewhere but I can't find the link now. EDIT: I found it, thx for this -> https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-win7-distribution.45005/page-55#post-1342451
Hi everyone! Thanks for supporting this topic, because I do not have time to do something here. I read the last few pages and saw .NET 4.7.2 from abbodi1406, which looks great, so I will try to add its support.
^ Finally I can avoid using wintoolkit for the .net addon. It's a great tool, but it can only integrate the addon in one index at a time, so AIOs are a pain. Nice job. Basically the job got a whole lot easier and streamlined.
AiO's are the easiest, you have to do only the lowest sku (starter for x86 and/or homebasic for x64, all others can be made from them) I am creating a low level "script" to do all automated
The /Optimize=esd switch converts a wim file to an esd file. as I read here before in some replies, this will not work in a windows 7 bootable media, it only supports wim and will have to use a windows 8.1 bootable media to support esd right ??
What is not good about integrating the most current MSIE possible? It prevents a lot of old msie editions and updates being offered on WU.
@Pir8pete There are lots of scenarios out there that require IE11(and maybe updates) being installed(even disabled in programs and features works). Stop bashing on it. Yes, we know it's not the best browser, no one here ever said /ie11 means you have to use ie11 as your main browser. It just plays the role of a necessary runtime component for a number of programs. Better to have it than not. It DOES NOT eat resources. It DOES NOT take up a ton of space(and if that's your concern, you need an upgrade). @AsaadSoft Correct. If you set /optimize=esd, you'll have to use installer from 8.1/10.
Boys Just remove IE all together in the .win image like i have and look the other way on the wu with these updates. I have had 0 issues with every program i have ever tried to run. I have been using firefox and it rock solid and even better with its addons
