This is certainly a surprise... When has MS ever released updated media for a soon to be EOL OS? Can we start theorizing about a possible plan to make consumers pay for updates past 2020?
I didn't see any info about Simplix stopping? This message is as expected, those newly appeared crappy windows 7 iso's contain 2 rollups, one of them superseded by the other
HP = Home Premium as mentioned in the other topic i don't know why people go for such useless editions like home or basic or starter, I would never install any edition of windows other than Pro, or Ultimate in case of win7 the rest are just bulls**t, and entreprise ones are not designed for the individuals, so everything except Pro edition is just nonsense and unnecessary confusion for the public and in case of windows 10 the home edition is just a total waste i don't know why anyone would use that, nothing can be customized by the end user and no group policy, updates are forced and all that makes it just a waste in my view and regarding this new iso, i don't think microsoft cares about users of windows 7 anyway, so i would use a simplix updated iso any time every time, over these new telemetry rubbish iso's
Can I update a Windows 7 ISO that previously had new updates integrated using an older version of the UpdatePack7R2 app?
It might work, but is not recommended. I'd start with a vanilla Win7 SP1 ISO (without previous integration).
Normally the direct download page works like a charm, the link above is giving a phishing warning and 'unwanted software page' alert for me. Nothing has changed my end in a long time, just a little concerned to see several warnings that usually do not appear using direct links from MDL. Is it just me and the link/page is fine?
@Enthousiast Simplix removed the /SmartFix switch. Now all that is needed is for the smartfix file to be in the same folder as the update pack, same as the dx/.net addons. Should edit that part in OP as well(***OPTIONAL SWITCHES***). The actual post on ozone:
