Normally the direct download page works like a charm, the link above is giving a phishing warning and 'unwanted software page' alert for me. Nothing has changed my end in a long time, just a little concerned to see several warnings that usually do not appear using direct links from MDL. Is it just me and the link/page is fine?
@Enthousiast Simplix removed the /SmartFix switch. Now all that is needed is for the smartfix file to be in the same folder as the update pack, same as the dx/.net addons. Should edit that part in OP as well(***OPTIONAL SWITCHES***). The actual post on ozone:
I changed it to: Code: /SmartFix - NO LONGER NEEDED! (integrates SmartFix tool by Simplix (available in the Start menu or in Safe Mode)) now it will work, if the file SmartFix.exe is in the same folder as the update pack.

I believe Starter is for use in 3rd world countries. Bill Gates did a big talk on it. the only organization that pays for Starter licenses is the Gates Foundation afaik.

i think that was the case several years ago because most common pc's were poor in processing and performance, so they thought those editions would perform well. nowadays is a different story and most pc's are doing very good regarding performance, as far as windows 10 is concerned, i think the home edition was mainly found to just limit end users from messing up with the OS (customization) so microsoft can profit more

ya I read some PC World or PC Magazine article back in 2005 and it said to buy a Core 2 Duo. I haven't looked back since. prior to that all I had was a Pentium III
edit: whoops. I think "advanced installer" means it is waiting for something else to come. probably put files there for telemetry updates if that's what you are trying to avoid. I wouldn't worry about it. wait for a better reply though.

Home, CSL and Pro (+N) still ARE free But in my country most OEM systems are sold with 10 Home pre-installed.
