Still no answer to my questions. Is it at least possible to know what is the "SxS" Visual C++ Redistributable? Is that another way for saying "2005, 2008, 2010, 2012"?
@Bersekz Simplix Pack is a mirror or trying to fulfill Windows Update, otherwise ou would seen it include Convenience Rollup KB3125574 security-only updates are very specific, should not generally used telemetry is overrated on Windows 7, it's not intrusive or deeply integrated, it takes just a few registry keys and getting rid of some schedule tasks to neutralize it .WA = Wintoolkit Addon = the original program that integrate those addons, it's simple .7z file Simplix added support for them lately, i didn't change anything none of these runtimes/frameworks have msu installers, that's the whole point of converting them to addons VC++ 2005/2008 redists are side-by-side runtimes, deployed and works from WinSxS directory, they need special treatment to convert them to addon
Thank you a lot for taking the time to give me a proper detailed answer, I got a much clearer overview now. So, the vcredist_x64_SxS_Win7.WA addon includes redists 2005 and 2008, but what about 2010 and 2012 versions then? Still have to install those manually by using .msu files I guess? I currently have all the redist versions installed on my PC, mainly because I run old programs/play old games sometimes that may require them.
Did you read the VC addon topic? you need 3 addons to get all VC++ redists stop using msu files expression, VC++ are not updates
mmm what about new kernel patches what about telemetry init ? if telemetry in 7 is so easy to remove, then why not just offer newest ISO they released for DL instead ? -_-
^ Because even a total os deployment nab like me can offer better serviced iso's than those "new" ones from MS. If you insist so much on using "official MS iso's", then by all means go download those 5GB+ single index garbage collections and use them.
Interesting enough, I used the new UpdatePack7R2-19.3.15.exe with all the addons, but the vcredist_x86_2017_WinAll_14.20.27404.WA wasn't installed.
Because you are trying to integrate the x86 addon into the x64 distribution. Or the addon is damaged.
@Ultra Male On a live system, updates are installed in stages. It's perfectly normal. If you're comparing it to windows 10 updating, it's completely different up until the windows 7 ssu updates showed up(i believe) - windows 7 has many small updates addressing individual issues and most of said updates have their own prerequisites, so, as said above me, it's almost impossible to install all the updates at once, hence the separate stages of update installation. Don't worry, windows 10 has its own kinks - "cumulative" netfx updates which are not actually cumulative.
