I have successfully integrated updates windows7 x86 & 64 separately then i made AIO using Successfully tested on Virtual Machine. But when is try to make bootable USB problem arises. iso actual size is around 5.5GB but usb shows only 1.5GB and i can't install via bootable usb on any system. (install.wim file size is 968MB in the usb). any help?
The problem is the filesystem, i.e. you are using FAT32. FAT32 has a limitation: you can write files up to 4GB in size. Use NTFS and your problem will be gone. I recommend Rufus utility to prepare a bootable usb pendrive.
Jasoos, it has nothing with your question, as Mr.X already answered, but personally I cannot see the point why ppl are mixing together x86 and x64 versions. Instead of putting together different versions, I would rather use one of them, and using the remaining space with some helpful programs, system addons, runtimes, drivers and similar things that would be useful after clean Windows installation.
Gamazet, the thing here is that some ppl just like PC technicians (like me btw lol) service a wide variety of machines so at certain moment you need a handy install media like a double architecture AIO.
Eh, for PC technicians one USB with two versions is not enough, you would need those that have 58..versions AIO
Not necessarily. Look, it depends on the person's choice, for example when I do Win7 I have a Win7 x86/x64 AIO (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Professional and Enterprise editions) only. For other Windows versions I have separate ones. However people might want a SuperAIO murphy78's style Personally I don' like huge superaios. In jasoos' case, maybe he's not using solely one edition but several as mine. Trust me, I use Simplix pack to integrate updates and ie11 into all indexes/editions and install.wim gets really fat lol
I looked at the Russian forum through google translate and they haven't a clou either then that Simplix is interested in other things at the moment. Pitty because I'd like to make a slipstreamed updated until januari for a fresh install as I do every year. So I wait a couple of days more and then I'll go for the November one.
is this project is open source ?? or anyone know how its works ?? than may be we can start this project here in MDL. what do u think guys ??
I'd like to see that Russian project going International, and I meant to say: MDL It would be so great to have sort of Simplix Pack maintained here.
Hmm... Isn't updation stuff in any form actually part of MDL right now? Why would that M$ crusade happen?
Some time ago I mentioned that idea to Simplix. He said that he don't have enough time and is already very busy on oszone forum where he is actively maintaining several topics (Simplix Pack, Windows addons, AntiSMS, LightBackup etc.) and also is moderator. He is visiting here from time to time to see what's happening. About the comments for eventual end of support for Simplix Pack, I would say it will continue in the future. Simplix did not mentioned anything about stopping it. He is busy these days, and hopefully everything will continue in full capacity.
Wow! lol Didn't know the mere act of packaging updates unnerved M$. Still don't understand why Simplix (packaged updates) are not taken down though.
