I'm wondering why the first post wasn't updated to the new pack. Only found out last saturday. Another thing I noticed is that the resulting offline iso of my W7 x64 pro is quite smaller and took longer to integrate on the same machine compared to the 16.1.17 pack Without IE11 integrated: The installation log of UpdatePack 7 / 2008 R2 / 16.1.17 Installation start time - 13:38:23 20.01.2016 Operating system - Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 ....... ....... Installation finish time - 14:17:04 20.01.2016 The number of installed updates - 205 Total installation time of UpdatePack - 38:41 Operation of the program has been successfully finished 4,31 GB (4.635.648.000 bytes) ---------------------- The installation log of UpdatePack 7 / 2008 R2 / 17.1.15 Installation start time - 9:56:43 22.01.2017 Operating system - Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 ........ ........ Installation finish time - 10:58:14 22.01.2017 The number of installed updates - 200 Total installation time of UpdatePack - 01:01:31 4,04 GB (4.340.326.400 bytes) ____________________________________________ Same goes for with IE11 integrated. Don't have last years log and iso any more but I do remember It wouldn't fit a DVD5. Now it shows: The installation log of UpdatePack 7 / 2008 R2 / 17.1.15 Installation start time - 15:21:05 22.01.2017 Operating system - Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 ........ ........ Installation finish time - 16:25:37 22.01.2017 The number of installed updates - 205 Total installation time of UpdatePack - 01:04:32 Operation of the program has been successfully finished 4,23 GB (4.550.017.024 bytes) which would fit a DVD5 easily.
It's not updated because someone scared gamazet off by guessing/hacking his pw and deleted his post, the staff managed to put it back but now he is, sadly, gone. The integration time is about 10min more then with the december pack. I only service starter x86 or home basic x64 (and seperatly enterprise) and set edition them to all higher sku's so i can't tell about the size of the iso after running it on all 4 or 5 indexes. x64 base wim simplixed 17.1.15 + msie11: Code: Image Index: 1 ------------------- Name:Windows 7 HOMEBASIC Description:Windows 7 HOMEBASIC Flags:HomeBasic Files:91147 Folders:18467 Expanded Size:15106 MB Image Index: 2 ------------------- Name:Windows 7 ENTERPRISE Description:Windows 7 ENTERPRISE Flags:Enterprise Files:92719 Folders:18807 Expanded Size:15495 MB Size = 4.04 GB (4,341,032,676 bytes)
I would but out of respect for, and hope of, gamazet coming back to support and maintain his MDL post of the Simplix Pack project plus the lack of being able to read the language of the board where it originates from, i have my doubts i will be able to do a good job at it. Afaik the creator Simplix is a member of MDL, maybe he can/will or at least keep us uptodate, i will nag the staff to update the OP when needed
I appreciate your great help mate but this solution is just a remedy not a full fix. My doubts are in gamazet coming back here not on you Honestly I believe you could do a GREAT job too. Not that I disrespect gamazet's job but you have that, that, what's the word? Ah yes: enthusiasm Btw, do you have for certain gamazet can actually read Russian without translators? Just asking... no intended offense.
Someone always makes a post when there is an update. Big deal it's not on page 1. I found Gamazet to be a real sook. Complaining & having a hissy fit if someones else posted about the update/link before he did. And there's always he's reaction to MDL once his account got hacked (or whatever happened). Really, does it matter that much??
That's your personal opinion, and i could understand his reasons for it. And that doesn't make his effort to maintain HIS thread on MDL less great... ps, i now have seen several people who didn't know where to find the latest update, so it is very important to keep the OP as uptodate as possible.
That's not what I said. I'm replying to what YOU said about "people who didn't know where to find the latest update". As far as I'm concerned I have finished with this topic & am moving on...
Yes, let the threat be abandoned, never update it again.... just post the original website at the OP and go for it....
