2- To work around broken WU, it installs only 80 at a time. Trying to install everything at once will hog insane amounts of CPU and memory.
There is a difference, if you integrate updates to ISO and clean install Windows it will take almost no extra time to install the OS and you have all updates installed. If you install updates after installing OS it will take a while, think it was 1-2 hour.
Freedom of choice the project is +4 years old, don't you think any "suspicious" agenda would have been reported by users?
I installed this on a fresh Windows 7 installation a few months ago, working perfectly. To update it do I just run the executable I downloaded and it will install what is missing since I originally installed it? Thanks.
@degen12, you run the latest version to update, so you need to download the latest version in the first post. It's changed every month to include the latest updates. Then, that will add whatever is new to your system.
For me it's quite good. Now tell us what would you've answered if you, let's assume you do, trusted Simplix pack?
If you don't trust it you're free to not use it, and feel free to do a factual investigation. All the years i've used it for my projects, i never got any complaints it behaves badly in any way.
A guy enters a pharmacy, looks for a medicine. He explains his hesitations and asks about the medinicines ingredients. Pharmacist replies: We trust it. You're free not to use it. Employees finds it smart *clap* The guy asks "Why?" Still smug, he says: Because freedom of choice. This medicine is around for 4 years and nobody complained. The guy goes out thinking what Socrates and Plato asked but haven't found, what is justice? He takes a fuel can out of his trunk, pours it on front of the pharmacy. Takes a step back, lights a match. Only to light up his cigarette. No expression on his face, he looks inside. The pharmacist can't be worried to get out. He smokes until the end before he throws. Watches the pharmacist burn. He takes out the extinguisher. He's very prepared. Holds the extinguisher low, starts spraying, looks like he's cumming everywhere. He puts off the fire. Pharmacist's body lays on the ground. He comes close, pulls down his zipper *trrrpt* Starts pissing. First a sound *Ts* then the steam comes out. He gets on his car. Drives away feeling satisfied. He lives happily ever after. You're asking why he did this. Not because he's crazy. Not that he likes to cum everywhere. Because! Listen... Ignorance is dangerous.
The only way to get answers is either go to oszone and ask the creator or do a deep investigation, run the batch files on an install.wim and see what gets changed/run it on a live VM and check what it changed. No need to show us what kinds of fantasies you have about a cumspraying pharmacy customer.
Ok buddy, my problem is not with you. I'm talking about abbodi1406, although I think people who liked his posts are no different. I came here because this is an english speaking forum which is %100 relevant to the topic. Since I'm not a programmer I asked my fellow script kiddies the universe's most normal question, "Are any of us auditing this code?" abbodi1406 shows his smug face: "Don't use it if you don't like it". Rude. Unfriendly. Unintelligent. Needs even more spraying.
Go spray on oszone forums,,,, How can someone have fellow script kiddiez when he/she can't code scripts himself?
Who brought the "belief" to the subject in the first place? who insultly categorized the tool developer as the "russian guy" mocking his intention? like if any russian or chinese tools are guilty until proven innocent you do know the file is digitally signed, don't you? all updates files are from MSFT, otherwise system won't accept them the tool is basically a good GUI checker/installer what source you think worth or need auditing in that?
Hi abbodi1406 don't waste your time with some people's, you ever help a lot of members here simply ignore ungrateful IMO
I figured you didn't like the "believing" part in my question. It was not to offend simplix users, I do believe in it for a year now. It's a legitimate question to see if someone else knows better than I do. I didn't emphasized the "russian guy". I'm positive about Russians because of their history. I also highly regard Chinese. So I didn't think him being Russian made it less trustworthy. But I understand how it led to controversy here. We can forget about it. Some questions sticks in my mind, like even if simplix was clean for last 4 years, it may contain malware in the next release, right? I want to know if we have some kind of protection against it. Finally, a little helpful answer, now I can ask more to build up on it. I'll do my best to make you take these questions seriously. 1- By digitally signed, do you mean the .exe itself or the updates embedded in it? How does it make any difference to be digitally signed? Is it not possible to fake a signature? 2- What prevents my system to accept tweaked updates? Does the PC connect to MS servers and do a hash check of updates? 3- If the tool is just a GUI, it should be fairly easy to review. Then why do you think it's closed source? These questions are not aimed to make you suspicious about simplix. You do whatever you want. I'm here to dismiss my suspicions. Not to be reminded of my freedom of choice.
Satisfied? Nagged and insulted enough to trigger a reply? So, the pack does nothing weird itself, it leaves the telemetry updates out, it's up to the users to install whatever they want after using the pack (most are just as paranoid as you and like it that the pack leaves them out).
