I restored the original xrml-ms and looks like it helps. Anyway, i will perform the full memory test right now. Just to be sure.
No if the system isn't activated.. I've many MAK keys in my hand and I've seen the same problem in many tests for my Advanced Tokens Manager about using the Activate method. Every -ato in a non-activated system, but in the same hardware, lost one activation count. BTW: These MAKs aren't leaked, I'm the owner of all.
never mind. so, checked memory - no errors. There is a difference between 9200.xrm-ms and 7898.xrm-ms. Last one does not contains AlwaysRunasDifferentUser policy. I wonder if it can be cause of bsods in my case
well, no bsods here. Currently running 7600 file. ace2 - thanks. I will use 7600 and i will upload that file into my "package"
Thanks! ''explorer-ppdlic_b7600.xrm-ms'' works very well. Windows still act-d. Whether it can be ''.xrm-ms'' recovered Aero?
W7 file has different LicenseID from W8 file. Rather use b7989 file which has same LicenseID as b9200. Windows will be more happy. W7 b7600: licenseId="{19e3ee59-07ac-3477-aac3-14b8061eb218}" W8 all builds: licenseId="{5e3b56a1-653f-db4e-7bb6-ede0eb45da68}" It is rather AlwaysShowRunAsDifferentUser. If the value is 1, it just shows at screen bottom the option "Run as different user" next to "Run as Administrator" when you right-click on the Metro Tile. But in b9200 the value is 0, so there is no real difference in behavior at all. W2012S b9200 has same file as W8 b9200. Same builds have always same file no matter if the system is Client or Server, also no matter the architecture (x32- or x64). BTW: I still don't know, what is "AeroAnimation", I only know "AeroShake" is unusable rubbish (because my hand shakes as that normally). ))
If you hand shakes like that you should visit a doctor Anyway, AeroAnimations should be what you see all the time when Minimizing, alt-tab fading etc, as these are missing when you go to basic theme on 7 and only available on Aero
AeroAnimations (look at skip metro thread) is about taskbar icon animation with mouse. I never noticed it till someone mentioned it with my methode (as I only can pull out all explorer settings). moderate is completly right. your bsod has no relation to the xrm file (as I already said). using w7 instead of w8 is worse because of multiple times mentioned licenseid. the minize animation is windows-desktopwindowmanager-transition not aeroanimation.
@moderate Rather use b7989 file which has same LicenseID as b9200. Windows will be more happy. @ace2 Have tested explorer-ppdlic_b7989 a few times with slmgr.vbs /ilc %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms before updates & it BREAKS updates at the very END. Recommend UPDATING FIRST OR NOT USING explorer-ppdlic_b7989. Have tested explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms from windows 7 ultimate a few times with slmgr.vbs /ilc %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms & its Work fine BEFORE & AFTER UPDATES. Recommend UPDATING FIRST BEFORE USING ANY explorer-ppdlic & USING windows 7 ultimate (b7600) explorer-ppdlic.
Trouble is that W8 OS has problems with WU even with the default file from b9200 @Ace2: Could you do more testing? Create new 4-6 VMs, install W8 there, use different xrm-ms for each one?
MS seems to have a serious problem with their licensesystem. Out from ace2 statement and my experience. rilc and ilc crashes. ilc only on reapplying known licenses. (I guess this from ace2 statement that W7 works, but 7989 break) I would do a bet if you now apply some other explorer xrm from w7 with same ID but different values, the tokens.dat get's also crushed.
