I activated Windows 7 using one of the loaders (Hazar I think). I ran the SLIC_Dump_Toolkit V2.0 and it showed I have SLIC 2.1 in my bios. Does my bios have this version of SLIC or did the loader do this. I ask because I will eventually have to use the bios SLIC activation version. Thanks Asus P5Q Deluxe (Bios 1406)
I have the same mainboard with actual BIOS 2201 (not modified). When starting Slic Dump Toolkit from Windows XP it shows NO SLIC in Bios. So I think, Dump Toolkit sees your Emu.
It shows a slic 2.1 in your bios because the hazar loader is emulating the slic. Your bios is untouched and does not have slic 2.1 added.
SLIC Dump ToolKit 2.1Beta feedback Adding some feedback as I have seen others with reporting errors. I'm running Vista Home Premium (using this before I upgrade to Win 7), on a Dell XPS 1640 laptop. The beta tool does not report any vendor information for my BIOS except for the following: TYPE: Phoenix BIOS /ACPI 2.0 SIZE: 3520K Everest Ultimate reports the following: VENDOR: Dell, Inc. Version: A07 Release Date: 05/07/2009 Size: 2048 KB
Hi davidxxw, I was looking for a sony bios, which available nowhere. anyway i stumbled onto a website where I found Bios Dumper developed by you? is that real? if it's real, can I just dump the bios with your tool, and mod it? thanks,
yes, I have released a toolkit named "BIOS backup Toolkit"(CN/EN) in chinese web, it can almost backup all of the type pc's bios , but i can't ensure all of the type pc's bios are correct.
I have Private Messages to Daz for "the case : Replace the read only acpi SLIC tables in the BIOS " many days ago. maybe he has upgraded his software. The Original Message: Daz: IF the old SLIC is load from bios chip Statically , your tools can't replace the old SLIC , because the address FFFFXXXX-FFFFFFFF is bios chip map read only, So you 'd better to change the SLIC address in RSDT&XSDT.Other way to test the old slic writeable. davidxxw, In the advanced display, how does the tool know which SLIC the pubkey belongs to? Does it assume it is the same as the marker? (ie. if a slic in memory had a ASUS pubkey and a Dell marker, would the tool identify it - (I am thinking in terms of some failed dynamic mods where some bits get replaced and some don't)) Andy
