What basically does this tool do? i've a sony vaio with phoenix bios and no download link for the original bios. Will this insert slic 2.1 in my bios??
I have an Asus A3M78-CM motherboard modded with HP SLIC and SLP and this is what I got. It just doesn't seem right.
Here is my new dump file. Any idea why the SLP string is 'Toshiba' even though I modded my Asus M3A78-CM with HP SLIC and SLP?
Ran this under Admin mode under Win 7 x64, on a new P55-CD53 MSI mb. Ami bios version 1.2 This tool says "Dump error, SLIC table not found" on the first screen. Not 100% sure about this SLIC thing, but it seems strange to me. Is there no SLIC at all on this brand new board or is the tool having a problem?
Click on the "Advance" tab and check the Slic Diagnosis group of fields. Do you have version 2.1 slic shown? If none, then your mobo's bios do not have slic 2.1.
How old is your laptop ???? if it is from 2006 or older then it doesnt have SLIC in the bios, unless they create a new bios file for it to support it. I dont think HP released a bios update for your machine to add slic 2.0 (or 2.1) into your bios.
Found a simple bug. If I click on backup (under Pkey & Cert) it open the browser to choose a file name and save them, but if I press CANCEL on both them, it just says: 1. Backup DigitalProdutId Sucess ! 2. Backup Certificate Sucess ! I would use "Digital Product ID" msg too, ID with caps (or upper case) and spaces (easier to read it). Edit: using v2.2F
