Well... I was wondering what would be better... I mean, I know how to mod my BIOS, and since I have a gigabyte board (meaning I can use @BIOS to make things SO easy) and someone has already uploaded SLIC 2.1 modded bios for my Mobo model... would it be better for me to update my BIOS to include SLIC v2.1? Is there any disadvantage to loaders/act*vators? If I update my BIOS to SLIC 2.1 and want to use the Dell OEM key, what do I need to do? Update the BIOS, install a copy of Ultimate OEM, put the key into the OEM when installing? Cheers, Tjub
Bios mod is the best, this because bios mods are very hard to detect. Loaders on the other hand can be detected. what to do after you modded, 2 steps. Open command prompt and add those 2 lines. slmgr.vbs -ilc OEM.XRM-MS (where OEM.XRM-MS is a valid OEM cert matching with SLIC 2.1 in BIOS) slmgr -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (where ***** = place a valid key)
Okay, so I used this to mod the BIOS: Gigabyte P35-DS3L ver. F9 : Award slic=Dell, slp=Asus,HP, method=ssv3, mod zort So now I just need to do the steps above, install windows 7, then thats it? Its still running fine now on windows vista and the SLIC Dump toolkit shows that it is running SLIC 2.1 from Dell
Do you use xp or small business server ? if not i would leave SLP blank in the tool. SLIC + Certificate = Activation Vista and 7 The steps i posted are the only 2 to use for activating 7
i have the same question, Actually, i have activated 7 whit a loader, and since the bios is more difficult to identify I would change .Since there is no slp , slic and asus certificate, is cheaper wait until there is ones , or there is no difference ? If i have cert. in win for HP/dell/etc.. and i have a asus motherboard, can be discovered? thanks
me too whit loader...... but now there is no control i think.. you can't validate the OS whit WGA now, or i'm wrong?
gigabyte p35 s3 slic2.1 bios defentalely the cleanist way but- I had a big problem with using a moddified bios with my gigabyte mobo- P35 s3 award bios 8 I managed to activate windows 7 ultimate but it would only last a few days. it would the blue screen on boot- a message would come up along these lines- this bios isn't fully something? complient. tried many times with different slic2.1 bioses all with the same result, 2 days then gone! loaders are the only things that seem to work with my mobo? any one got a clue?
Those BIOS I used were premade... I didnt make them, I just used them. Is it going to matter is the SLP isnt blank?
