19041.1 Everything else like the 1904y and .xxxx is just updates. If you plan on using this script, you follow OP's instructions.
As i said few days ago , i manage to build a setup command after you install any version of windows 10 with a collection of many tweaks and registry to make windows run faster i keep always the Bluetooth and miracast , disable driver from windows update and many other . i never disable animation like in your setting and the only way to see what goods will bring , it is to try it ... If someone can correct some reg files please feel free to let me know ...
@wkeller could you make script for online os.? i see some asking for a way to add the new tweaks to an already online os. would also be cool if you could pick wich tweak to use.. like do you want to remove defender 1. yes 2. no keep defender 3. ect. thanks
What's wrong with drivers from Windows Update? Isn't these drivers pretty much the latest driver in a slim package (i.e only the actual driver)? I don't know for sure, but aren't drivers that gets added to windows update quality assured? I mean, the impact of a flawed driver could be disastrous since it's more or less automatically pushed out to so many computers. Finally, for older hardware, where the benefit of this project may be the greatest, you really can't expect bug fixes because there's simply no incentive for hardware vendors to invest $$$ in hardware that they have no longer any commitment to support. I'm going to try this today, just need to enable Bluetooth, OneDrive, and perhaps UWP support, assuming I need it for "winget" to work.
You still don't understand what this script is for. First you try to get a system with the least telemetry and then you want to restore what this script deleted and have a lot of telemetry again. Why do you want to use this script? Install the original system from Microsoft and do not use this script.
You don't want telemetry Don't use any Ms OS I can use this script and than use black bird And than use another script .. until no telemetary at all And left with not functioning system .. I can go even further and use tor & vpn And leave free Google service And use a secure private mail .. My point I need custom script that reflects my needs This can be a good basis With options to customize settings.. It will be perfect
Objectively speaking - yes, I'm still waiting for an option where I can use commands or a script to apply the improvements from the new version, but on an already installed Windows 10. I wrote this three days ago here, but there is no answer yet.
@wkeller - I have a question - which is better in terms of disk space usage after installation - I only download iso via UUP-dump. 1. Download the system version 19045.1- and integrate the updates in your script - 2. Download the latest and disable update integration in your script?
Made an online version. now test it on my VHDX machine nsudo was changed to --> nsudoLC after running BlackBird ... too ... hope it will work ........ My machine still works
They are not necessarily latest nor the best. I know the case, where Windows Update has been constantly updating working driver to non-working one. Ie. working Bluetooth were turned to to non-working one. When I downgraded driver, everything worked ok, but Windows Update updated it again and it stopped working. I have also experienced cases when printers suddenly stopped working correctly after update or eg. WakeOnLAN feature stopped working. It is sometimes nightmare in a company, when something that worked yesterday and entire year before, suddenly stopped working today, just because of some update. Just because you have not experienced any issues personally, doesn't mean that others haven't too. You don't have to fix something that already works flawlessly. You even shouldn't, because better is often the enemy of good.
Nothing. In some corner cases what's wrong will be pretty evident. Say your dual VGA Notebook can't switch between Nvidia and Intel VGA. In that case, just use the OEM provided drivers. For anything else, refusing to use the WU drivers, is just idiotic elitism.
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I've been lurking around for some years, but this is my first post. Well, firstly, I would like to thank you for making this amazing tool, I spent all night finishing the process and finally tested it today. It's great, but I'm having issues with windows update. When I went to check it out, it says "A problem has ocurred, try to reopen settings later". I know the post says that windows updates requires a manual toggle, I did that (in services.msc and administrative tools), but the problem still persists. I'm a little ignorant when it comes to power user stuff like that, can someone help me with this issue? On the other hand, is this an intentional feature? I will admit that english is not my first language and I may have misinterpreted something.
Hello, thank you for taking some time to answer my question. I carefully read you instructions, I even mentioned it in my first post: I followed the instructions again, I rebooted my system and went straight to administrative tools to toggle windows updates, however, it keeps saying that windows update is already enabled. Despite being toggled, the problem still persists.
