Nope. Still blocked and properties doesn't give any useful options. It's a %#$%ing UWP? App. Nvidia's DCH driver. I imagine it is to do with removing the store.
You need enable the store for Nvidia : Code: :: Enable Windows Store :: 0 - disable Windows Store :: 1 - enable Windows Store, Desktop Appx Installer and Windows Update :: 2 - enable above + Store Purchase and Microsoft Account :: 3 - enable above + Calendar, Contacts, SMS, Calls and Tasks permisions :: 4 - enable above + Push Notifications, Location and all permisions set EnableStore=4
Thanks, but I didn't when using LTSC. The control panel is installed, just blocked...I think. But, yeah, I am assuming the removal of the store removed something that it "depends" on as well.
Hello, Is it possible to have an 0 & 1 option for sound & animations preference in .cmd script? Both in Integrate7 & Slimdown10 script. Thanks.
hello, just tried Windows 11. Due to a discount I have got a very new laptop with AMD 7535h cpu meaning drivers are well prepared and available for Windows 11 but not Windows 10. Windows 10 with slimdown10 gave me good results, just the Windows without those many strange functions that are nagging a bit. However Windows 11 is unbearable, has alot of system sounds, those stupid widgets with "news messages", advertisement and many more annoying things, even though I created the installer with running slimdown10 on a Windows11 image. There are some setting in the thread here, so that it can run on Windows11. However, I have to say, it is a very good idea to stick to windows 10, because slimdown10 does a fantastic job to slim down all those stupid functions that redmond has put in to annoy the user. So I will reinstall slimdown'ed Windows 10 and live with the one out of 4 USB ports only working in USB2 mode. So I am just thankful that wkeller is maintaining this script. It is so very helpful. It means no problem for the next 2 or 3 years with Windows 10 security updates. Lets hope Windows 11 will get less annoying or s/o has the knowledge to adapt the script / the settings so that it will be something like a slimdown11-tool. By the way, I have reenabled the Defender antivirus function. Does somebody have an advise wether it is better to use it or to skip it (as privided by the orginal slimdown10 script)? edit: Could be that I did something wrong when changing the option for defender, I haven't figured out yet.
It depends on you. I use this. Every antivirus will slow your system somewhat, except ClamWin which is just scanner. Microsoft is enforcing antivirus because they know that most typical users aren't aware where potential threats exists. They typically download and click random files and thus can easily infect their OSes. So antivirus gives them some level of protection.
Just used this for the first time Where has action centre gone in this slimmed down install...any attempt to re-enable it via normal methods fails...kinda important to have, especially on a laptop, for functionality Also, even though i set windows store to 1, i cant sideload any .msixbundle files?
While I can't offer any help to get any of this working, does Windows Mobility Center (Windows/System32/mblctr.exe) work for you? It and the other older interfaces offer everything that's in Action Center but none of the telemetry, i/o overhead, require less crap running in the background, and have worked well for decades.
Ran into this on a couple of builds, including a clean build install... is this one that can be ignored- Processing 1 of 1 - Adding package C:\Tools\Slimdown10\hotfixes\windows10.0-kb5026361-x64.msu [==========================100.0%==========================] C:\Tools\Slimdown10\hotfixes\windows10.0-kb5026361-x64.msu: An error occurred applying the Unattend.xml file from the .msu package. For more information, review the log file. Error: 0x80073701
It should run with no errors. If there is any error, probably host OS is the source of issues. Microsoft DISM is fragile and could fail when something is messed up in host OS (it may be antivirus or something else). I have created a dozen ISO images with this tool, without any errors. If host OS is clean and stable, it simply works.
I think that is the error I got when I tried to use it on an ISO from UUP Dump that was a newer version than the updates Slimdown was trying to install. If not that, I have no idea.
Thank you for the idea. I did attempt this using latest dump from UUP, so I'll revisit this with a previous version.
Lets not use UUP. I had installs mess up WU beacues of UUP ISO's, and had languagepack integration issues
I've had no problem with UUP Dump ISOs other than what I mentioned. I just use the current one and set Slimdown10 to paraphrased: "Do Updates = 0", but yeah, better to use the recommended ISO version and let Slimdown10 do its thing I guess. Otherwise consider yourself "on your own" in "testing" phase, though as long as it works, I prefer the most current (released, non-insider) build and just not have Slimdown10 try to 'update' it to a lower version. I guess there is no "logic" in it about if version = xxx or lower, then update, if version = yyy or greater, then back the **** out!
