A few settings can be changed with regedit at any time. No need to recreate entire image. Anyway, I am unable to recreate your error, because Thunderbird is working for me.
@hetero I remember similar issues with Firefox (no any related to slim-os script) and learned: Sometimes just the profile is kinda fcked up. If it not makes that mega effort Id try to make a new clean profile on new clean slim-os-ed-OS and backuping it. Then u r safe against any potential issues related.
Okay. In my case was just about that reg- file what cause Fifefox -account sync missing. Slim OS include that, so was my problem because wanna use sync.
Guys I use firefox & gmail email account. Noticed if I send email & go to attach file explorer box pops up normally, I type the first letter of the file & it usually highlights the suggested file. Though in recent slimdown os I have to manually highlight & select the file? In another regular win 10 os I have on another pc it works how it should. Can you advise what I need to alter?
All policies are under keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Mozilla HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Mozilla \ Firefox HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Mozilla \ Thunderbird Just edit or delete them with regedit (Registry editor) and try. I think it will be related to search suggestions or so.
Thanks OP will be giving this a go tomorrow sometime if I get my new cpu cooler for my new PC build, first time it errored out but that was due to me not turning off BitDefender and it deciding to not like slimdown.cmd so had to unmount using the unmount.cmd and restart with BD turned off. Got a new shiny windows 10 education iso with stock setting and firefox offline installer added to it, just need to put that on a USb stick now and all set to try it out.
I deleted those keys, though if I attempt to "attach" a file in gmail using the lower explorer "file name" search box it refuses to pick the file as I type a letter. The upper search bar works. As mentioned above if I use a gold ver of win 10 22H2 it will pick the file name by typing just the first letter? Is there something else in explorer that might be affecting this in slimdown10?
Try this: Code: reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete" /v "AutoSuggest" /t REG_SZ /d "yes" /f reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete" /v "Append Completion" /t REG_SZ /d "yes" /f reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AutoComplete" /v "Append Completion" /t REG_SZ /d "yes" /f PS. Generally I have disabled all suggestions and searches, files and commands history (for privacy reasons), so it has to be reenabled.
I have a question, if I have already used your script, can I re-use this edited ISO to update again? Or every time I have to download a new ISO from Microsoft?
Why is there a password on the .7z file? You have to post the password here, otherwise nobody can use the program, so what is the point of the password? I don't get it.
1. Authors protection. Only if you know the source (this thread, or being the creator) you can open it. That avoid "steal"/harm in any kind, at least a bit. 2. Windows Defender tend to delete potential "microsoft-harming" tools, treat it like a virus. I remember once it deleted KMS without even to notify me about. 3. People only can open and use on system if they know the password, what is to find here, so they read the text (and hopefully understand what they doing), like a "idiot-test", so that avoid accidents. 4,. Antivirus of hosters also tend to delete stuff, like its for warez, so better protect the content. and and and.. So you see there are many reasons for put a password around.
