I don't know what could be happening. We use different operating systems and antivirus. I don't know if that would be the problem either. Here I use Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and ESET NOD32. I don't like Defender. Try installing Win10 and removing Defender for a test.
The script ran successfully, the problem was the script folder path, which command prompt was not automatically taking. I then have to manually give the path of the script folder after opening command prompt as administrator. What I noticed in this script that in the end it is not making finalized iso file automatically, we have to manually recreate iso file from DVD folder, can you change that in the script? Also need to know what policies needs to be changed or removed in the script for the following in Edge 1. Show Home button and its customization 2. Custom New tab page with search bar and favourite website shortcuts 3. Enable google search suggestions in search and address bar @SunLion bro plz help me to have above three options only, I know you can sort it out, plz help me
ashish1989 I would just add, that W. Keller said earlier in the thread Slimdown10 was never intended to support Windows 11. In fact he felt as many here do; that Windows 11 is so onerous in the amount of bloat, crapware, telemetry, spyware, and schemes to market to and monetize User data, with all of this deliberately made interdependent with the OS and virtually impossible to clean up properly -- that it wasn't even remotely worth the effort. That some Users actually got the script to run on some versions of Windows 11 was a surprise to all -- that SunLion has gone so far above and beyond in trying to help you is very kind on his part as it's not like he's some kind of paid technical support for your special use case, he's just a really nice guy! As well I would not count on ANY slimmed Windows 11 installation done with any of the tools for doing this now in the wild as being particularly more secure, private, or even more performant than a default Windows 11 installation, as none of the projects that do this have been doing it as long as people have been exploring and trying to document Windows 10, and Microsoft is adding new garbage to Windows 11 at an absolutely astounding rate. As far as browser comparisons; there are a ton of them, and lots of FireFox forks that offer more performance, a smaller installation or more security -- like LibreWolf, Ghostery Private Browser, Floorp, and the one you're looking at.
Good. Remember to never leave blank spaces in paths and file and folder names, to avoid problems. The script contains the configuration options at the beginning and there is the option to create ISO or not. Just change from 0 to 1. I don't know about this customization. You can do this after you have configured your browser with all your favorite links and everything. Then save your profile (copy the folder to another directory to restore when you need to install it again). Examples: - Firefox: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles - Chrome: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data The script already replaces Bing with Google as the default search.
No offence brother, but I really don't think Windows 11 is as s**tty as you are telling. At some point of the day when the support is over we have to switch to Windows 11 anyways. Then why not now?
Just 1 thing left now, there is no option to open inprivate window, atleast can you help me regarding this?
Oh yes.....yes it is! And then some. Even the crap that oozes out of it, backwards into Windows 10 is like that, like the newer versions of Edge. Just INSANELY bloated, force installed, and intertwined in WebView, etc.
Which browser are you using? The script includes Optional Settings, where I left the following items DISABLED, which may be interfering with this: Make sure you haven't changed this.
As I said before, the script removes Edge completely. Why don't you try another browser? Firefox is working very well in the test I did. Or else we would have to remove all the codes that refer to Edge in the script.
I made tests with chrome and firefox, and I am surprised firefox is taking too much ram with same extensions and opened tabs. And I have decided to stick to Chrome now until I found something more better than chrome
