@SunLion new updates have been published for windows 10. Can you release the new version now with necessary and requested changes
Worked perfectly, win11 23h2 ent on a Dell OptiPlex 3020. I used rufas to make install drive removing limits for win 11. First boot 1.2 gig ram used and 107 running processes. Anyone know of a way to add the by pass win 11 trusted platform check, ram and CPU requirements to the slimdown script or as a separate stand alone script, maybe as an option in slimdown.
In my tests, my Windows 11 IOT Enterprise 24H2 first boot takes 1.7 gb ram, I don't know why, with edge, search and windows update enabled. Even first boot images by @SunLion bro of Windows 11 shows only 1.1 gb ram. What am I doing wrong, to have such high ram usage on first boot?
Try this tool from Enthousiast: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/win-11-boot-and-upgrade-fix-kit.83724/
I have tested again with this script and clean installed Windows 11 IOT Enterprise 24H2 LTSC on my system. First boot showing 1.7 gb used ram and 108 processes. I have enabled edge, windows search and windows update by default. Can you please tell me, why I am getting such high ram usage on startup, specially on the first boot? I also tested Windows 11 Home 23H2 with the script, but the ram usage result is same i.e. 1.7 gb. Just with edge, windows update and windows search I am getting a high ram usage even on clean install, still can't figure out. Can anybody provide any inputs here?
I don't do anything special. After the System is installed, I add a list for Windows 10 provided by abbodi. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...es-you-guys-disable.75202/page-4#post-1507722
On my test with Optiplex 3020 I left windows defender (option 1) and store (option 1), and removed Edge completely. Rufus for install media with remove limits checked and disable bitlocker checked. Rufus over Enthousiast's tool was the uncertainty factor as read somewhere the removal of installation limits had changed and Rufus latest works on 24h2. A second boot confirms the 1.2 gig ram usage and 107 processes. This script is an excellent tool for custom installs. Thank you to everyone involved. I do have one question on the PreDownloadAllUpdates script. It takes the build number updates the script to download all the updates. I was able to find and specify a KB number for the build I wanted and in this test I used KB5040442. How can the PreownloadAllUpdates script be modified to be stand alone and accept command line sku or kb number for any win 10 or 11 build and download all updated just for that build. That would be a useful tool.
I didn't get you, are the above apps to disable is already included in the script? If yes, then why am I getting such high ram usage on boot?
I have 8 gb ram only. I also tested Windows 10 IOT Enterprise 2021 with the windows 10 compatible script. In that I am getting only 1 gb ram usage on startup.
I just enabled edge and store option to 2. I also used latest rufus to remove hardware checks of windows 11. But still I am having 1.7 gb ram and 108 processes on boot.
No idea then. I have 16 GB RAM and all/most versions of Windows 10 (Slimmed or LTSC, I've never ran a full bloated version of windows) run at about 1.6 GB used and ~100 processes give or take. I've never been able to make a significant dent in it via disabling services, etc., though if I allowed Defender, Cortana, System Restore, Edge etc. to run according to M$, I'm sure it would be quite a bit more RAM/Processes and probably feel pretty sluggish.
Hi all something going on for me in SD10v202_12 please see log attached. I have either put the win10.iso in the root of SD dir as I always have, tried extracting the contents to the DVD dir, though issue still persists? I re downloaded the SD10v202_12 to no avaIL, have used a fresh copy a win10 gold iso also, though still not working? If I use the previous SD10v202_10 I have no issue whatsoever? Hey Everyone, long time lurker of this great scirpt. Im still running Win10 ISO created by Wojciech Keller original script 2.02 on my two laptops, a thinkpad and dell inspiron. So, I decided to use @SunLion modified script (version SD11v202_4.6.) for win11 to make debloated iso for my lenovo legion, but running into the problem "The system cannot find the path specified." again and again. The original script by wkeller ran fine multiple times. Did everything mentioned in the earlier posts; Excluded the folder in MS AV, Disabled the AV, enabled long paths, tried running the script on another laptop, restarted the laptop, ran the cleanup script, Copying the script to another drive (i.e E Drive), Copied the script folder to short path i.e C drive (also changing the path in script). Still no luck. I saw alot of posts about the same error but no one wrote any message on how they solved their issue. Any help would be appreciated. @SunLion Code: Script used ==> C:\Slimdown11\SD11v202_4.6.cmd =============================================================================== Unpacking ISO/DVD image: "en-us_windows_11_23h2.iso" to DVD directory... =============================================================================== The system cannot find the path specified. ================================================================ Install.wim/Install.esd not found inside DVD source image! ================================================================
