jiafei2427, please check the notes below and let me know which version you chose.

IN SHORT, ALL THAT LEFT IS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE APPX REMOVAL.

To help, can you tell me which version is used?

So it was with this app that the error occurred. And I don't know why.

You could try doing it like this, if you haven't already:

    - run the _UnmountCleanUp.cmd script and immediately close Explorer

    - disable your antivirus

    - close all open folders

    - close all running apps

    - check if you still have any apps running in the background

go back to the script folder and

    - run _PreDownloadAllUpdates_x64.cmd to download all updates

    - run SD10_Renewed_1.1_Start.cmd

let's see if this works well

Regarding the Microsoft Store issue I had, this new script does not seem to block the MS Store like the old one did. I tested on a spare machine I have. However, I don't want to reinstall on my main machine if possible (it was installed using an ISO from the old script). What changes do you make to fix it?

I changed the way to enable or disable the store, to simplify things. Now it doesn't have all those options, but only yes or no.

With this, some codes that would no longer apply were removed.

The code "Disable Microsoft Account", which could be causing the problem, was also removed.

I want to love this but too many odd things happen

One build it will remove Defender, the next it wont

The latest weirdness was Windows update not working at all and my user shell folders disappearing from File Explorer the day after install (never to return despite dism and sfc runs, and resets - never seen anything quite like that :) )...ive had an extensive setupcomplete full of commands and reg stuff for years, and never had any weirdness. Perhaps this tries to do much?

I appreciate the effort, but i cant afford the downtime these days to detective it all....

Which is the latest script to use. On page 1 it is version SD10v202_75.7z
In the thread 274 it is SD10_Renewed_1.0_fixed.7z
And btw which windows 10 consumer ISO to use best with less issues.

Small suggestion. You don't need external Remove8dot3.cmd file, this simple code works 100%:
    Code:
echo Remove 8dot3 filenames from image
    fsutil 8dot3name strip /s "%~dp0mount"
I put it before "Microsoft SysInternals Tools EULA is Accepted by default" code.

    More Performance Than I Thought!

From all his published benchmarks it appeared that Ghost Spector's hand built Windows 11 ISOs were the most performant way to install Windows. It's been several years since I tired one of his builds, so I thought I'd give his LTSC U11 release a try on one of my older AMD reference design platforms (AMD B550 chipset, Radeon RX6800XT GPU, Ryzen 5800X3D CPU) which is a great system because I can even install box stock SteamOS on it and it just works.

I say 'appeared' because what I'll get to here didn't occur to me until I got into it and decided to run a few objective game engine benchmarks for UE5, Unity, AnvilNext, and RSE, as well as measuring DPC latency, so these were all practical tests for gaming only, on an old AMD reference platform used for development and testing.

I did not capture benchmark video, or render performance logs, I was working too fast and just wanted to get a comparison done after it occured to me that Ghost Spectre was benchmarking against box stock Windows installations and I had recalled measuring Slimdown10 and ReviOS modded installations outperforming stock Windows by nearly as much if not more...

The comparison I did was just raw raster performance, and I wasn't even comparing Ghost Spector's U11 LTSC release to a Slimdown10 install, I used ReviOS that I know from previous testing underperforms Slimdown10 measurably but it's faster to install, and setup for testing.

What I can offer is ReviOS post install script install of Windows, with some of the same tweaks Slimdown10 applies done manually, outperforms Ghost Spectre's most performant installation of Windows handsomely under the conditions described above, and well above any margin of error. Obviously, there are a lot of limitations and caveats to my report:

    · no data to publish -- I was just working too fast to get it done, just to see for myself
    · AMD only comparison obviously this could be upside-down with Intel NVIDIA parts
    · raster performance only so no upscaling, frame render or ray-tracing capability measured here

It's not my intention here to take anything away from Ghost Spectre's builds -- this guy puts an enormous amount of work into what he does, and his most performant builds may perform significantly better with NVIDIA or Intel parts, and very well may with RT and AFR render candy and features enabled on faster machines.

That said I was disappointed by the amount of performance left on the table by Ghost Specter's U11 build of LTSC, a lot of settings left untweaked, though this may be due to my lack of familiarity with his Ghost Toolbox... Still quite a difference, DPC was high, and then there's the punishing awkwardness and inefficiency of the Windows 11 interface that I just don't like that biases me...

The more you know... Or the more I know the more I stand pat on Windows 10 LTSC and script modded installations.
