In section CreateSlim (line 170) set EnableSubsystemLinux=0 is missing? Also line 2800 should be without ":" or maybe it doesn't matter? Code: if "%EnableSubsystemLinux%"=="0" goto :skipEnableSubsystemLinux should be Code: if "%EnableSubsystemLinux%"=="0" goto skipEnableSubsystemLinux
In fact, this option only exists for the DEFAULT edition. For the SLIM version it was removed, as we do not want it there. The code has been fixed. Thanks for your help!
Please replace the SD10_Renewed_1.3.1.cmd script with this new one. Reason: Added option to disable or not Windows Update. psw: mdl2025
@SunLion Can you explain can we use an esd file or does this need to be converted to an iso? All the links in the SD ISO dir suggest to use links to esd's
I used abbodi conv which resulted in the "en_windows_10_education_19041_x64_dvd.iso" I placed in the ISO Dir. It's an education ed, single image 1 that I can see. After I select image 1 it immediately shuts down & deletes the script! See log file attached. Edit: Tried with a further three iso's & all fail.
The password works and everything is decompressed except this file "win32calc.exe" and I have a folder with size 721 MB (756.192.636 bytes) The error says: Compression method not supported : Wrong password? : SD_10_Renewed_1.3.1\Addons\Win32calc\\Win32calc\3\Windows\Systwm32\win32calc.exe It is weird...
Did you disable your antivirus before unpacking the file? Some antiviruses are very sensitive and end up ruining the process. Here, when I work with scripts I always disable the antivirus. Try it and see if it works.
The script is configured to recognize the images below, in any language: If none of these options are found, the script will not advance... When you download the ESD image, unzip it with all editions and with install.wim (select 1 and 1 again in the decrypt.cmd script).
For those who want to create the ISO, I created a separate script for that. The one in the package is incomplete. Replace it with this updated one. Place it in the SD10_Renewed_1.3.1 folder and run as administrator. The ISO "Win10_Renewed_x64_en-US.iso" will be created in your language and a WInfo.txt file with the image information will be created next to the script. No password
Yes I have, but I did it obliquely: For testing like this, because it's faster for testing (and I don't have a lot of time) I use ReviOS. As ReviOS is a post install slimmer, you can clean install 10 or 11 IoT on bare metal -- benchmark the native clean OS install, then slim it down post install with ReviOS and apply its tweaks, then benchmark again. I've previously benchmarked ReviOS against Slimdown10 several times as features were added/changed in each ReviOS and Slimdown10, and Slimdown10 installs have always outperformed ReviOS installs. Windows 10 and 11 have traded places both slimmed and unslimmed as more spy/sell/scam crap gets added to Windows 11 with each version update, much that's hard or even impossible to remove or disable. Just look at the vomit load of services that run on 11 (any flavor) by default, and all the processes that leak data and call home that have to be manually disabled (over 200). Windows 11 isn't getting better it's getting worse...
When I choose the esd file "19045.1826.220707-2303.22h2_release_svc_refresh_clientbusiness_vol_x64fre_en-us_b35bf56e4b0ec11190f301b887302964d88c3468" Then use aboddi's converter it changes to "en_windows_10_education_19041_x64_dvd" Where am I going wrong with this?
Well, I still want to say, do your own tests on slimmed down Windows 10 and 11 Iot Enterprise and provide your valuable feedback on performance and all.
