Sorry for my late reply to your comments. Not sure if its still important or if it helps anyone, but just to follow up with my problem (which is now solved for me). I posted 2 month ago my problem with creating an ISO: ERROR: Could not open file "\\?\C:\SD10_Renewed_1.5\DVD\sources\$OEM$\$$\Setup\BAT\Bin\amd64\NSudo.exe" Error 225: Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software. I was recommended to follow the readme.txt, but I did staight from the beginning. The cause for the problem was the same issue that Tanaris01 got. Windows Defender has somehow reactivated itself and I didn't recognise it. Is there any chance to implement something that prevents Windows Defender from secretly reinstalling itself? The Defender issue appeared on a virgin W10 Slimdown installation, when using Slimdown 1.6 and 1.8. Just installed my drivers with "Snappy Driver Installer Origin" and did run the latest Windows updates (Havent had the time yet to test the latest Slimdown version).
Personally, I don't use Defender. So I don't know how to configure it to exclude these "attacks". I prefer to use another antivirus, like ESET, which is lightweight and easy to configure.
Me neither. I've chosen "N" to disable Windows Defender in Slimdown for all my W10 installations. Thats why I was surprised that it has secretly installed itself. Its not that these "attacks" shouldnt be there, Windows Defender shouldnt be there at all. My guess is that Windows Update has somehow installed it, but I dont know... Used Slimdown 1.6 script on my Slimdown 2.02.4x installation and used Slimdown 1.8 script on my Slimdown 1.6 installation.
Actually, you should have chosen YES to disable Defender completely. When you chose NO, Defender became active.
Hi everyone, I have a problem... I can´t successfully run powercfg /batteryreport command in CMD/Powershell, even if run it with admin rights. I wonder if are there some code lines in the script that prevent report being generated or something.
Oh sorry, typo. Thats what I always use: [...] N - Do you want Create a SLIM image? Y - Do you want DISABLE Windows Store? Y - Do you want DISABLE Windows Search? Y - Do you want DISABLE Windows Defender? Y - Do you want to REMOVE Edge completely? [...] And I've double checked my log file, I've chosen "Yes" to disable Defender
You followed all the instructions to run the script, as follows: 1 - disable the folders and directories where the script files are located in your antivirus 2 - disable your antivirus before running the script 3 - unzip the script package to a short path, for example: D:\ or E:\ or X:\ These precautions help the process to be safer and more successful. Did you install any other app that may have caused Defender to be activated after all? In the tests, Defender is completely disabled and I have no problems with that.
