If we correct fullquotes, it's mostly because the post was reported for just that reason. The reply to @Meru's post was just a nudge in the right direction, 1. for not littering topics with fullquotes (potentially getting his posts reported later), and 2. being a forum rule - No Homebrew. Nothing else was said, and there is no hidden meaning, no intimidation etc. And the only one who seemed to be p*ssed was @hoak for reasons unknown - it wasn't even his post. Now, BTT.
Be careful of what? I've never abrogated any of your forum rules. If for any reason the Moderation sentiment is in a majority as you describe, I'm sincere: please delete all my posts, and remove my account.
SunLion is active developer. as he said, 1. he couldn't change post#1 as he is NOT original owner. hence he has setup a pointer to his update. 2. he wouldn't go w11 sector (my guess, his work on SD10/SD11 right like brothers, couldn't be split. now easy to follow both) Without his wonderful work, my OS would be stuck at W7.
@hoak got it just tried this and i noticed gain of speed. wonder if you could try trust installer and rename the folder that way. what is the downside of doing this,? what will you be missing.? thanks
Its his thread of course and he is allowed to do or sort it how he wants Could even be moved to MDL Applications and projects or start new thread there since its for multiple OS
Yes, it's surprising what a terrible mess and resource pig MPO is in Windows. There are other SystemApps that can easily be uninstalled with the package manager that confer similar performance gains in other regards, and of course a lot of this is cumulative, where individual tweaks only do a little, but combined with other disable, remove tweaks the results can be impressive. Yes you absolutely can, there's no downside other than some people that read the thread might not know what you're talking about or how to do it... Obviously if you have a shell extension to do this it's very quick and easy to use TE... I just like to offer quick and easy methods that don't require any additional tools knowledge, or add yet more bloat to get something done -- so anyone can try them out.
This topic yes, but the other one, where we are also discussing Windows 11 no. That topic was created by wkeller, so I can't modify it.
===================== SD10_Renewed_1.17 ===================== Updated to version 1904x.5917 This is a new approach to modifying Windows 10, based on the ideas and models suggested by @balanadi. This mode uses abbodi's W10UI, modified by balanadi so that a pause occurs after unpacking the updates, before starting the integration. At this point, a suggestion is presented for you to replace modified .mum files in the folder where the LCU was extracted, usually in C:\Windows\Temp\W10UItemp_xxxx (the numbering at the end may change each time). Inside the W10UItemp_xxxx folder there should be the folder where the LCU was extracted, for example, Windows10.0-KB5058481-x64_inout, where the modified .mum files should be copied, replacing all the files there. Then, close all open explorer windows and return to the paused script. Press a key to continue. - Added 19041.5917_mum folder with modified .mum files - Updated the hfixes_all.txt file - Updated the Restricted Codec Dolby - Added Optional Apps in EXTRA\Apps folder for manual installation - Removed OEMTheme automatic install - Adjusted other configs In this new model, the images are much smaller, without having to make any effort or use complicated commands to do so. Test it out and see. Since we are doing the process differently, please let us know if you encounter any errors. This way, we will adjust the script to make it work better. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10_v2-0-2-continued.88599/
The modified ''mum'' files are in ''en-US'' and ''pt-BR''. How can we make them in our native language?
It's 1st test report of common users. my SD10_Renewed_1.17 test completed successfully on VirtualBox, host Windows 7. It's running fine. no problem except Windows activation (usually it's automatic but this one NOT) however, its log file hints sort of problem. Error: 87 hence four files in folder RemoveList all nearly blank. SD10_Renewed_1.17 works for en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64.iso but when tried it on normal version, Windows10_22H2_x64.iso. it prompted "HEADER ERROR". I was trying to make a Home version in this way. but failed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.19041.1 Image Version: 10.0.19044.1288 Error: 87 The get-capabilities option is unknown. For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /?. The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ about OS size, it generates the smallest OS size I have seen. its SD10.vdi is below 7 GB (6.981 GB). read table below. Its plain version (i.e.by old SD10_Renewed_1.x) Win10.vdi is nearly 100% greater. 14.951 GB. SunLion's recent W11 releases (24H2_Integrator_10.x) would generate size 12.x-13.x GB. improved, but still bigger than that by SD10_Renewed_1.17
@SunLion ion Worked perfectly here for me, tested in a vm all good. My install.wim reduced just over 200mb less than ver1.15 size.
I was expecting a question like this, but I was hoping that the script would work without problems with the other languages. Have you tried running the script like this to see how it behaves? If it doesn't work, we'll have to think about how to adjust it for the other languages.
Yes, my PC has an iso folder, including various iso files. SD10_Renewed_1.17 can detect the folder. but to ensure right one to use, b4 to run, I move one by one next to the script. 1st one to run is en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64.iso. it's well-done. then 2nd one, Windows10_22H2_x64.iso. it got error "HEADERS ERROR". B4 the script to run, it would reconfirm, "you are sure to run this one than the iso folder?", my answer was "yes"
