Yes, I've figured out why. Please test it with this attached script (replace the original). Please report the result!
Is the script working on x86 version? Anyone tested it on x86 version? my last test was LTSC x64 version.
Thanks for reporting. Just to clarify, the script doesn't remove appxpackages when run in DEBUG mode only. When run in normal mode, where updates are integrated, everything runs smoothly. Therefore, I'll wait for the new monthly update to publish the corrected script with the new package.
Pro x64 Tested. It's working fine on VM. apps are ready (cal paint snipping). Thank you SunLion for your endless endeavors. Note: 1 cal. I can see two. one is classic. another is plain. 2 it's noticed the image by SD10_Renewed_1.28 is about 250MB bigger. Is that normal? the biggest since giving up W10UI .mum method. 3. indeed, handling with LTSC or with Pro (non-LTSC), the script is different (I did compare them). Is that true? I will keep both scripts at this time.
If you choose not to remove Defender, the Defender update will be added, increasing the image size by about 250 MB. When using PRO, some codes aren't applied as they are in LTSC, as they are specific to LTSC. So, the logs are different.
Pro x86 Tested on a physical computer. it runs fine. I have some XP computers, still running strong. I tested OS install of W7 (x86, x64), W10 (x86, x64), and W11. running W7 (x64) and W11, often got crashing. running W7 (x86), W10 (x86, x64) were ok. I was thinking W10 x64 should be crashing too. Anyway, I let them staying with W10 (x86 or x64. no matter). more stable and compatible comparing to W11 or W7. the x86 is more compact (clean-install today shows 6.1 GB only).
Thanks for you quick reply, i will check... Just wanted to mention that you responded to a former edit of my post. Ive added a new Point 7 and the defender topic became Point 8. Sorry for the confusion, you're just too quick for me
I figured out what was causing this. It was the removal of Internet Explorer in the "Remove Capabilities" code. Fixed!
1) pressing Win + E not solved yet On the first boot of a fresh installation it works until the script starts to apply additional changes. Afterwards you'll get the error message 2) couldn't install Adobe Acrobat (Print Spooler) worked, thx 3) Cant open any links in MS Office (just tested with Excel) fixed by SunLion 4) pressing Win + R, entering "editor" yeah I mean notepad. I'm sure it worked before when typing "editor", strange, but nothing important. Maybe under Win7... 5) redundant personal tweaks SunLion will check and correct 6) convert LTSC 2021 to IOT LTSC 2021 (MAS HWID activation) Don't have any experience with MAS HWID, just found the mentioned script and thought it would be an easy fix. Will try understand your $OEM$ solution... Started the file (sources/$OEM$/$$/Setup/Scripts/MAS_AIO.cmd), chosen 1 for HWID but getting "Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSC / 19044 / SKU:126 This product does not support HWID activation" as an error 7) PersonalTweaks/Reg/W10LM.reg Will be removed Under Win7 I removed some of them with the following entries. Sadly I couldn't change these entries in the regedit. I guess its blocked by the script? Hide libraries =========== * HKEY CLASSES ROOT\CLSID\{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\ShellFolder * Attributes * b090010d hide libraries * b080010d show libraries Hide favorites ============ * [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\ShellFolder * Attrbutes * a9400100 hide favorites * a0900100 show favorites 8) Defender You're right, defender is not installed, mixed it up with the Defender Firewall. Thanks for clarification.
In SD10, there's no difference between N and non-N. It's preferable to use the normal editing, that is, non-N. The options to disable or remove components with the script only serve to rid the system of many useless things and reduce the image size.
===================== SD10_Renewed_1.29 ===================== Updated to version 1904x.6216 Now, to work with an ISO image, you have two options: 1 - You can place the ISO image next to the script and select the option to work with that image. 2 - You can place the ISO image inside the ISO\x64 or ISO\x86 folder, and the script will prompt you to choose the image architecture and then which image to edit. Image names must follow the same criteria for both architectures; otherwise, the script will not identify them. - Adjusted the configuration for the x86.ISO image - Add Defender update when Windows Security is not removed - Fixed DisableQuickAccess - Removed REG\W10LM.reg tweak - Fixed cant open any links in MS Office - Fixed Windows Security functionality - Updated the APPX for x86 - Other minor adjustments Tested with: x64 - 19045.1826.220708-0121.22H2_RELEASE_SVC_REFRESH_CLIENTBUSINESS_VOL_X64FRE_PT-BR.ISO - en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f.iso x86 - pt-br_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x86_dvd_d4aea182.iso The Docs folder contains test images and log files https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10_v2-0-2-continued.88599/
