===================== SD10_Renewed_1.36 ===================== Updated to version 1904x.6456 - Updated hfixes_all.txt - Removed "Disable Operating System Upgrade" code Tested with: - pt-br_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_f318268e.iso The Docs folder contains test images and log files https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10_v2-0-2-continued.88599/
I just downloaded it from MediaFire and it unzipped without any errors. Make sure there's no whitespace at the end of the password when copying it, as this can cause an error.
I ran the script yesterday and it completed successfully but I can't find the new iso anywhere. In the DVD folder I only found the files that are supposed to be in the iso. Do I need to run _CreateISO.cmd or just using poweriso?
I believe the script's approach to reducing the sources folder is not suitable for this type of installation. But please help me test it. Extract the Winsetup.dll file from the sources folder of the original ISO and copy it to the sources folder where the script reduced it. Afterwards, try the installation and report back. Thank you.
You can try removing the entire “reduce” section and then recreate the ISO. In general, image servicing is intended for fresh deployments, not for in-place upgrades. @SunLion - a small suggestion: it might be useful if each script update also included a batch file containing only the updated registry tweaks. That way, users could apply the latest changes directly to their live systems instead of rebuilding a new image every time. For example: SD10_Renewed_1.35 → SD10_Renewed_1.36 incremental update: :: Removed "Disable Operating System Upgrade" code reg add "The registry tweaks for live system"...
Thanks for your help. Yes, I'm reporting changes to the changelog.txt file with each new release. Please check if this is what you mean. I believe that doing the incremental update only would not be possible, since with each modification it would be necessary to create a new ISO.
As @Shrinklier said, the modified image is only suitable for a clean install. Try rebuilding the image again, this time with the attached script, edited to avoid shrinking. Please report back with the results.
What I meant is only about changes that can be applied to a live system. For example, if you make small edits to the main script, like reorganizing a part that doesn’t change the deployed image, then there’s no need for an incremental update. But updates that change something in the system itself, like registry tweaks or adding/removing packages, can be shared as incremental updates, since they don’t need a clean installation (which I believe we are at this point). For example, when you removed the “Disable Operating System Upgrade” code, you could also make a small update that removes those entries from live systems, so everything stays consistent with the latest script.
Nope, it didn't work. After going through the whole process and seeking what to keep, the system restarted and then the error message came "Windows 10 installation could not be completed"
Can you explain how you did it? A step-by-step guide? I need to understand what you did to analyze the process. I appreciate your help.
When slimdown process was complete, I didn't made the iso. I just ran the setup file from DVD folder of slimdown. The inplace upgrade begins shortly. It then checked for updates and took a little time and after a while it asked me what to keep, like windows, files. It then told me to restart and the system restarted and then the error message came "Windows 10 installation could not be completed"
