Tiny 10/11 are tiny versions of windows. Initial install OS is compact size. After update, its size will be getting swelled. If user installs it on an old computer with limited hardware resource (say 2 GB RAM. 32 GB storage). That means the PC update couldn’t go through, endless loopping or freezing up. Very bad user experience unless user completely stops any Windows update/new hotfixes. slimdown 10 disables/removes certain functions/features (such as STORE EDGE Defender Telemetry , , ,). Hence later when user runs Windows updates, usually computer will stay “slim”, NOT gets back those unwanted. A pretty feature. Also, slimdown 10 carries over some Windows 7’s features/legacies, such as Right-click QuickAccess. Those features are getting blunt in Windows 10/11. A headache for real computer users. Mobile users like touch-screen, therefore NOT a big problem for those users.
I haven't used tiny10 or tiny11 yet, so I can't give an opinion, at least not for now. But I can say that Windows 10 is still the most stable and reliable version.
I came from "normal stock" 10 LTSC 2021 to 2019, and the system is less bloated and heavy...why not customise or use 2019 system??
For my personal use, I prefer IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. But I also maintain a script to customize Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 for testing. I can share that one as well.
Hello Sunlion, I also prefer to use the LTSC 1809 version as it has much less "garbage" so I will wait for the release of the script, thank you
Tiny 10/11 compresses the system disk, and the so-called small size is just an illusion. In reality, it doesn't reduce many files.
In this regard, Windows 11 G is practically free of all these shortcomings, the only problem is that it is quite difficult to localize it for your region. It would be very interesting if someone could unlock the localization option for any region. Or convert it to Windows 11 25H2 IoT Enterprise LTSC, but unfortunately, there is no sign of anyone willing to write a normal script for this yet.
For all non-offical, homebrew, or unsupported stuff (LTSC is 24H2, not 25H2), please stay in the Reconstruction topic. It isn't tolerated anywhere else in the Windows 10 or Windows 11 forums. Thanks.
This may be more difficult than it looks -- Microsoft integrates SKUs now almost as if they anticipate exactly this sort of thing, and doing something like an SKU switch here for language integration, might just turn the whole thing into Windows 11 Pro as far all the crap that gets installed and turned on. Also even though not 'enabled' in 11G; all the telemetry & AI sub-systems are still there, ready to be enabled by another Windows Update, or Microsoft changing its mind, or Lawfare, or Microsoft just doesn't care. Until someone comes along with a seriously deep understanding of Windows 11 System Internals, that can actually remove this crap (and hopefully someone will), it's just prudent for anyone concerned with privacy and security to stick with an edition of Windows 10 or Server that's still being supported (or Linux). Microsoft is not your friend -- they're a very Consumer hostile Monopoly...
