I'm trying to slim down the Windows 10 iso , when I run SD10_Custom_1.72_Start.cmd the black window opens and then immediately closes. The folder is excluded from the antivirus. Plus antivirus is disabled altogether. I tried to run as administrator and tried to just run it . Same effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Good morning, Did you read the HowToUse.chm file before using the script? 7 – Now run the SD10_Custom_x.x_Start.cmd or SD10_Default_x.x_Start.cmd script as administrator. Attention: The first time you run the SD10_Custom_x.x_Start.cmd or SD10_Default_x.x_Start.cmd script, a PowerRun warning will appear asking you to enable command line commands. To do this, go to the DATA\Tools folder and run the PowerRun_x64.exe file. In the window that opens, go to the Files tab and click "Allow command line" and Close the PowerRun_x64.exe. That's it. Now everything will run without problems. See if this solves the problem. Let me know if anything comes up.
I've just done my test run and did run twice into two errors (PackageSelector/Remove Capabilities). I guess that's just an redundancy error as I've chosen to disable the media player and to remove Wordpad at the beginning of the script and it doesn't have any effect on my ISO? Later in the script it also shows an error for Wordpad
I'll check and get back to you with the result. No, this will not affect the ISO. There are some conflicts between PackageSelector and Remove Capabilities. I will check and correct this. Actually, PackageSelector doesn't add many additional removal options, since the Remove ProvisionedAppxPackages, Remove Capabilities, and Disable Features codes already cover the vast majority of what should be removed/disabled. Until it's validated, I suggest not using PackageSelector. Best regards

However, a bug might still occur in a different scenario, so please run a test and let me know the result. It will not fully extract for me. I use 7-Zip version 19.00 (x64) and it throws a Unsupported compression method: Wrong password? error when it gets to the DATA\Addons\... ... ...\win32calc.exe file.
I shall let @SunLion address this directly. I have no interest in WinRAR [to each their own] and think it fair for SunLion's upload to be compatible with 7-Zip.
I just extracted it with the 7-Zip command line archiver, and it worked fine -- I only use true portable software...
I prefer portable for a lot of my stuff also. But I do install 7-Zip. I'll try the command line approach. What VERSION did you use? I know there are newer versions and admittedly don't recall why I stayed with 19.00. I see just now that they're all the way up to 26.03 and 19.00 is no longer listed on the home page (it used to be, not sure when or why it no longer is). re: portable. I tend to just use the VM approach nowadays. Do anything and everything inside a VM. Even possible malware! Just delete the VM when done and no harm is done to the HOST OS.
7-Zip version 26.03 extracted the file just fine. Though I'm going to have to downgrade and see how far I can downgrade and still extract this file.
Good morning, Yes, whenever possible, update your app—especially 7-Zip, which is excellent. I always compress files using 7-Zip, but they can also be extracted with other apps, such as WinRAR. Good luck!
Agreed. For the longest time, the creator of 7-Zip *supported* more than one version and 19.00 *and* 23/24/25 branches were listed right on the front page. AI suggests that 19.00 was removed from the front page in 2023 but that seems too long ago to me. But I don't really recall. Today, the front page only lists ONE branch and you have to hunt down older versions via SourceForge link at bottom of front page. They did used to support TWO branches on the front page (and I was using the lesser of the two, feeling that the newer was still "experimental"). I've updated to the 25.01. To each their own, as always, I'm just NOT a fan of "chasing" updates left and right. To me, it is "b&ll$h#t" that things like browsers update every two d@mn weeks or so. Once every SIX MONTHS is more intune with my preference. My computer, my rules.

I too got an error on one file if using an older Winrar - believe it's later versions of winrar 5.x / 7-zip compression that give errors on a few files rather than the whole lot when extracting using older versions of those programs (strange it's sometimes just the odd file in an archive containing 100's of files.
