Delete "LayoutModification.xml" which is located in the "2xH2_Creator_14.6_4_4\PersonalTweaks" folder. "2xH2_Creator_14.6_4_4\OEM\$OEM$\$Docs\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell"
Sorry everyone if I don't know the reason, which has probably been explained before, but I didn't expect there to be so much talk about Windows 11 in a (great) thread dedicated to Windows 10... Why does this happen? Thank you all!
A new thread has been opened to discuss Windows 10: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10_v2-0-2-continued.88599/ In this thread, we stopped discussing Windows 10 because its creator is no longer part of the site. We are discussing the script modifications for Windows 11 here because I don't want to open a new thread for that. That's all.
Hi SunLion, Sorry to be honest, but the above is strange enough to me. Please note that what follows is certainly not a criticism, but just my point of view. First of all, your extraordinary work here deserves much more, in my humble opinion. Exactly as the OP deserves it, even though he decided to ask for his account to be deleted. His work was at least as extraordinary as yours, in my view, and I'm still using the latest version, which continues to works perfectly for me. Just like your subsequent versions, I guess. What I see is that your work, your excellent work with Windows 11 seems to be hidden in the folds of a thread whose very name forces it to be in a section of the forum dedicated to Windows 10. I say this with all due respect and appreciation, but the result is like that of a private club attended by only a select few insiders, just because anyone looking for something like this for 11 would naturally look for it in the Windows 11 forum section, without finding it. And those searching for it because they're interested in Windows 10 will find almost exclusively Windows 11-related posts among the "recent" ones. So, please, why hide such a great work mixing the related versions? Anyway, I apologize if I'm missing something important and thank you for your reply. Just my opinion...
We can move the Slimdown topic about Windows 11 to the Windows 11 forum, no prob, he just needs to ask. *shrugs*
All possible, and as topic owner, @SunLion is the one deciding. We could even split that topic from when it became Windows 11 related.
I think it's a good idea, some people new to the forum, or even these two related project threads (which are now quite divergent) get confused, or ignored, misdirected or all three... Of course up to the guy that's putting in the Lion's share of the time & effort.
when using latest script at the log in screen there is a lockscreen picture that i havent seen before and also new themes. and at the lockscreen lower left side there is a administrator and my username this i havent seen it before this come from official windows 11 enterprise ltsc iso,? or are they added to the script.?
Hi, my personal view, for what it's worth, is that the original thread could be left intact until the point where Windows 11 is starting to be discussed. From that point on, the thread could be moved to the Windows 11 section of the forum, with a home page just as descriptive and complete with all links and instructions as the original thread does. This would give the OP the respect he deserves (even if he asked to be deleted), as his work is truly exceptional, in my humble opinion. Furthermore, it would give @SunLion the respect he deserves, as his work is truly exceptional, in my humble opinion. That way, a reader who wanted to try Windows 11 (IoT) Enterprise LTSC would have all the instructions and download links on the first page (just as expected), and the discussion would continue where it left off, discussing Windows 11 just in the Windows 11 related thread, in the Windows 11 forum section. I've always believed that the exceptional work of exceptional people like the OP and @SunLion (not to mention all the nicknames of all the exceptional people in here who do exceptional work) should not only be respected, as already mentioned, but also valued by highlighting, rather than hiding, all its enormous potential. Whatever happens, thank you all, the OP, @SunLion and all other great posters on a great forum. Edit to add: Perhaps it would also be a good move to merge the "Slimdown10_v2.0.2 (continued)" thread into this one, including a link to itself on the first page. That way, two great threads (Slimdown10 and Slimdown11) would rightfully be separated, highlighted, and kept alive as they deserve, since there would be no reason anymore to keep "Slimdown10_v2.0.2 (continued)" separate from this thread being its natural continuation. IMO
Is it possible to separate the releases from the publication of the 2xH2_Creator script on March 2, 2025? https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ic-legacy-windows.86552/page-120#post-1872013 A new title for Windows 11 would be appropriate, for example: "Slimdown11 – turn Windows 11 or LTSC 2024 into classic/legacy Windows" If possible, we will try. Thank you!
So, the post you marked should become the #2 post of the new topic. I will need to copy the post above that from you to the new location first and make it empty, this will be the new head post. The forum software is a bit strange in this regard, #1 post must be the oldest one to be at the top. While the moving operation is in progress, the topic will have to be closed for a short while. Thus, you can decide when it should start, to not interrupt topic availability too much. Edit: New headpost will be https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown11-–-turn-windows-11-or-ltsc-2024-into-classic-legacy-windows.90039/ Still searching a way to hard-split a topic without having to do it for every page. Edit 2: So, it looks like I have to do it manually, it can take a while processing ~60 pages.
