I don't know which tools are compatible, i do not use any of them, sorry. the only tool i use is "install_wim_tweak.exe", which is just a registry hack tool to unhide windows internal packages.
I used to use hmm, SevenLite I think it's called, and with that, I could remove alot of things, language, games etc. etc. in Windows 7, and now I'm looking for something similar for Windows 8.1.
Yes it is. but using the "Dism" removal way require some experience in what packages you can remove, not all can be removed without breaking the install or edition.
Is a /h key a really working? Yes it's working, because "/h" is not for restoring permissions, it's for re-hiding the un-hided packages. so "Editing 'Packages' subkeys" is what really matters
Oh, I see... So, is it mean that I have to restore permissions "by hands" after WIM-image tuning? Because I have read somewhere that wrong permissions on these registry keys may prevent proper Windows Update operation.
I am waiting for release of WinReducer. Maybe after NY I'll try to use it for a new 8.1 installation.
I hope this isn't too far off topic..... I successfully removed the Photos app from my install media as well as a local online image which I verified by creating a new user and that user not having the photos app. However, how can I remove the photos app for a current users profile? The new user doesn't have it but my current profile (testing on myself first) still has it. I have about 34 people that were upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 and are now infected with this app and I'm getting a little sick of re-explaining...r-click, open with.... I'd greatly appreciate any help!

hours of testing. i don't use; ie11 media center wmp remote desktop metro apps etc so all that is gone. all my installed software is portable, except vmware, drivers & origin.
