1.boot to dos 2.run svctag 3.type y to confirm change service tag 4.type new service tag (just use your original one) 5.type again to confirm new service tag 6.run asset PASS:12/31 or 12/34 7.reboot to check
ow I’m quoting pix: the command: asset PASS:12/31 or on some machines asset PASS:12/34 sets the asset tag as PASS:12/31. After a reboot, this makes the machine enter manufacturer reset mode, resetting all of the BIOS settings and all of the flags that restrict licensing functionality (and probably some others too!). After the reboot the bios scarily reports that all of your drives are missing, then you are prompted to press Alt - F to perform the reset.
hello, does anybody have an utility to read the SLIC working on DOS for HP compaq 630? thnx in advance
i have a small doubt.there is another entry"win 7 configuration:0". according to another post sku os & win 7 configuration, both entries are to be set to 1.so can i expect same result if i follow your instructions & leaving win 7 configuration entry set to zero or am i missing something here.laptop is G620 with no discreet graphics & i5.
or which one according to you is more suitable?according to some others the 2nd set also results in slic 2.1 which i found a bit confusing.if os sku is set to 1(vista) & win 7 config also set to 1(i am assuming this means true)then does that mean bios activates slic 2.1 assuming a laptop which comes with genuine vista but is also eligible for windows 7 upgrade.can you please shed some light on this? this is the post where user used os sku & win 7 config values as 1 & still successfully activated slic2.1 forums.mydigitallife. info/threads/27426-hp-g62-b51se-after-1-month-of-work-now-with-slic-2.1-and-2-vga-card-and-2-sound-card?p=446023&viewfull=1#post446023
thanks & just 1 final doubt.please confirm that this set is correct: also what are the chances of bios corruption by setting wrong values here as this seems simply a config file to me so i am assuming boot sector of bios remains untouched so whatever values entered here even if wrong should not result in an unbootable system under any circumstances.
I tried to change ConfigID, but it gave the following error: Does anyone know what is MPM mode and if it's possible to turn it on?
