Ok I've started piecing together the pack meant to be used on MDL. It's going to be called Nova Pack code name wise to ease confusion on my end. Also it has a fully automated Server Workstation conversion inside it. This will make life easier for the Server people. The pack itself is pretty basic in terms of laying the ground work for further universal development. I am going to start testing this probably this weekend. Then I'll kick this up to Mega to start testing on MDL forums. Also Checking needs to be done that this is follows the rules. Testing will start with a RC2 in order to identify flaws in the scripts.
Ok guys this project is going to stagnate a little because I'm going to be out and about. Basically even though Finals are finished I still have some other things to take care of.
@R29k: Okay.....If that's Smorgan........and that's his girl..... Who's lying in the sand behind them? :MJ
LMFAO. I do not have a girlfriend. Though it would be nice if there were beaches. I'm going to add another rule as well.
At the moment I'm on vacation. When I get back we can start thinking about a GUI for this thing. I will start drawing up the plans however I'm thinking about adding a price tag for such a piece of software. That being said I still have some ideas floating around.
Ok when I don't feel like I just got run over by a train bc of jet lag. The final piece I'm thinking of doing is killing cmd and replacing it with powershell via image execution.
hrmmm... this is a most excellent project it did teach me a bit about powershell actually thanks smorgan been a while since I've been around excellent work though powershell can do most anything... Haven't messed around for a while though so will have to learn greek again lol you know how it goes if you don't use it you lose it. Been a few months of stuper for me curious to see where things have gotten so far I have a superb setup of my own thx to some of the work of others out there. Not exactly as I would like it but close very close.
I unfortunately got overwhelmed over the course of the summer. I actually finished the overall setup of the project. I liked being able to load scripts as a sort of variable set package. The problem I see with doing things in command prompt or batch is that its just too old. There is no reason to program in batch anymore than a few lines at most. Programming in command line takes forever and is just plain sloppy. I'm basically ready to call this project finished. It proved without a doubt that you can make a universal oem pack that can cover every aspect of windows. While simplifying the coding to make ti work under powershell. Along with doing checks inside of the pre loaded script to make it modular. I'm saddened that it didn't get that much attention but its bleeding edge
I ran a quick check with the current oem stuff I have. Here is a quick list: Windows 10 still sucks. Ok we're somewhat better now. However I wanna do more checking.
Its been a couple weeks and the Windows 10 forum is still burning. Anyway I've been toying with merging the setup program install with the apps install during post install. I think I'm going to introduce some advanced scripting to make it easier for changing up the software.
It has been a month. Fear not the development stuff is not dead. The quest for more fun in PowerShell is not over. The next version will have a unified apps script.
