Okay, I bought a Windows 8 Pro last year. And the Product Key has been in use on my Desktop computer. But I just recently used my Windows Media Center key. And I had to reactivate my desktop using the MC-Key. Now I don't know of I'm right or not. But Wouldn't my Original Windows 8 pro Key be free to be used on another computer? Or Is the original windows 8 pro key still tied to my current system? Just curios that's all, and If this has already been asked, Staff please feel free to delete this.
They tie everything down now. I bought an upgrade from Windows 7 and it invalidated my Windows 7 key. I hate Windows 8 and have no way to go back down.
Well, didn't think I would get such a smart ass remark so quick... Oh well. So... Both are now tied to my system eh?. Hmm... Oh well. Thanks.
You can use WMC keys on any computer,i have used 30+ WMC keys over and over over, tested, still working, activation for life ,yo
You can do it but both systems are in a risk to be flagged as non-genuine. In a first moment, the Windows 8 Pro with Media Center RETAIL Upgrade activation is checked every time to prevent this events. Your WMC Activation also contains the old PRO data, so it is also validated against Microsoft.
Ah, So it is tied to my old key still. Thanks at least this validates my thoughts. I wasn't going to install on another system anyways, It was just peaking my interest on weather or not the old pro key is still being used some how. Thanks again for a clear answer.
