    Hey guys,

I keep seeing posts with office 2010 and I was wondering if the RTM is out now?

I saw a thread that said the version was a RTM but some of you said it actually still was a beta.

Can anyone tell me what's the news on this?

No new version on Technet yet, my guess is that technet will get the RTM about a month or two before it goes public. I think they are probably getting close though. I have had a couple of bugs that I had to report but I have had no crashes or lost data with the beta. I really hate shared space though.

Beyond stability and an RTM date, any ideas on how to activate it yet?

Will there be ways to do that as easy as with e.g. Win7? (Through existing license loaders/activation removal kits or the likes.)
    Thx!

The current pre-RTM builds can be activated by replacing files from the beta versions, but this method will probably be disabled in the real RTM (as it was in the Win7 RTM escrow builds).

We'll then have to wait until a valid key leaks before any hacks can be made. As Office doesn't activate in the same way as Windows, the same loader tricks won't work :(

Ceychas already collected assembly 14.0.4750.1000, Left to collect and test Autotest on ten assemblies to the final RTM assembly Office 2010. Now the deadline for leaving the final RTM version Office 2010 shifted toward the middle of April.
    About activation Office 2010:
First "sad" news for activation Office 2010 provided no OEM: SLP Key and certificate files, ie no off-line activation is not required,

With 2003 and 2007 it could be activated with a key from a keygen, of course they that are no real keys then. But you had to validate online and let it flag non genuine, then replace ogacheckcontrol.dll with a patched version. Currently it's oga 2.0.48.0, this will probably be updated to 3.x with office 2010.
And for office 2003/2007 you may not install a specific update cause it detects the patched file, this check will probably be included in 2010 RTM be default, but then it's just also patching these file I guess.

    OR

MS updates WAT to also check office, in this case tools like removewat can patch windows and office at 1 time.
