OK, found a problem with Winrar 3.80, and cascading context menus. Right click on an .mp3 and move down to the Winrar section, the whole desktop goes nutz. Its seems to happen most on .mp3's with long names.
Yeah, first thing this morning. Not that I've even started WMP. But, this is has nothing to do with WMP, its a context menu problem between Explorer and Winrar.
The issue with WinRAR is due to icons in the context menus. I turned them off and it is fine. You are telling me there is a new version out that doesn't get all f-ed up when I turn on context menu icons for WinRAR?
Am using WinRAR 3.61 with cascaded context menu - and everything seem to work fine. Just tried raring an MP3...
Win 7 Ultimate RTM NIS 2009-- installs fine but has problems. There is driver incompatibility. Norton website claims that by the time the Win 7 is released publicly, they will have a fix that will download automatically.
1) Creative Labs "Zen Xtra" 60GB MP3 Player --The driver package claims to install, requires reboot, then afterward the MP3 player still shows as "no drivers installed". --The Creative Labs software package to access/organize the player has been amalgamated into the "ZENCast" software package. This installs fine, but never detects player. Tried the included Software Update feature. No effect; no new player drivers installed, player not detected. None of their drivers or software specifically references Win7, even the Beta/RC, and even though this player is "officially" supported, I doubt any updates for Win7 will be forthcoming, as their x64 support SUCKED on all OS's with this player. WinXP x64 support totally destroyed "Nomad Explorer", the primary method of organizing this player, and I waited ages for x64 drivers for the unit itself. Just throwing this info out there for anyone else with a ZEN Xtra MP3 player, or any other Creative Labs MP3 player that might behave badly under Win7. --DKnight
