    I was wondering:
    - I've added some older video drivers to my 8.1 install.wim. When I install this .wim, everything's OK, the driver is installed correctly.
    - So if I use this install.wim (with one added driver) to make a reference image next (patch-) Tuesday on a different machine, let it update, then audit mode-sysprep-capture, is the driver still there in the install.wim? Or is it gone, because it wasn't needed on that particular machine?

    Again, I was just wondering...

If the driver is not, I think Windows will set a common driver.

If it's integrated in the wim , yes of course :)

Are you removing the old driver first and then adding the new driver to the mounted offline wim?

I integrate a number base drivers (ie Realtek HD, Killer Lan, Megaraid) into my wims but have found that adding the video drivers has never really worked. You don't get the utilities either.
    ie, CCC, physx.
In the past I also had issues with updating video drivers. Could not uninstall properly etc.

You haven't mentioned which "old" driver you are installing so perhaps in this case it's all good...
