I't seems Edge is highly connected with W10, so when new features/security updates are added along patch tuesday releases, with LTSC you can't get those updates (not fitting for LTSC), stucking with the previuos version installed. Any workaround?
That topic has been treated many times. On 1607 we had a registry fix from Xinso. Apparently, the same fix on 1809 breaks WU. There is no workaround yet, it's not even clear if Edge will keep working after LTSC receives its CU's. Cheers.
Well I did something stupid yesterday. Tried the LTSC 2019 package on LTSB 1607 and obviously it did not work. Tried to remove the package but it was problematic. I cleared out registry, files, folders and even the Apprepository machinestate database (with a free SQL Lite browser). Now the 1607 version Edge won't install anymore, First i get an error: Code: Appxmanifest not found When copying it manually to \Windows\SystemAps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe I get a different error: Code: Rejecting a request to register from AppxManifest.xml because the manifest is not in the package root. Does anybody know where this parameter or variable "Package root" is defined? Are there perhaps any remnants of the LTSC 2019 package? Cheers.
So, I was able to install all metro appx from PRO into 2016 LTSB 1493.2551 and all are working except for Edge.... The way I did it, was just copying the folders from a PRO version from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" into the same location on my PC and ran this command: Add-AppXPackage -Register 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\*\AppXManifest.xml' -DisableDevelopmentMode Remarks: Remove space from link so it can work 1. to have access to that folder, you need to change ownership first. Change it only for the folder, NOT SUBFOLDERS NOR FILES. 2. Once files are coppied, you may execute the command in pwshell. Make sure you opened pwshell as admin (Else it fails) 3. Once all apps are installed, you need to revert ownership (NT SERVICE\Trustedinstaller) 4. During the installation, you will see several errors. Just disregard. 5. After running the command DO NOT RESTART pc inmediatly, else not all apps will be properly installed. Wait 5 mins before restarting. 6. To have all apps in the PC's language, you must open Store and go to updates and let all apps be updated. 7. File downloaded needs to be decompressed using 7zip. 8. Instructions file inside. 9. For thos packages you DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL, do not copy them to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder before running the command in pwshell. As I am not sure what this really does, I will back up my PC before doing this. Thanks for this. I must have jumped that comment ...
How to add Edge update to offline image using Dism? Found MSEdgeUpdater by abbodi1406 making for integrate online, but not for offline. Can we extract MSU file? I use "expand -F:* Windows10.0-KB4467708-x64.msu C:<target_dir>" command and has error "Destination directory required for a multi-file CAB.
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...nterprise-ltsb-ltsc.76296/page-4#post-1470796 use /image:X:\ instead of /online (where X:\ is the path of the mounted offline windows) Or just use MSMG and follow the onscreen instructions.
Sorry but I mean is for the Cumulative Update KB file, not the pack *.cab they uploaded above. I want to update Edge after integrate to offline image using Dism.
