CPU is in socket, not soldered on this model. I don't have this Dothan cpu at hand soo... that's why my question. Laptop itself is limited to max 2 GB ram btw. Curious if i could run a highly modified and lightweight Windows 10 version on this jewel in a decent manner. Light browsing, reading email... that sort of stuff. FSB is same, DC-DC board should handle this without issues but i dunno if BIOS would stop me.
Not having PAE, you had horrible performance issues (back in the days). All I found was regarding Win8. But there are various discussions about bypassing/disabling PAE (on WIn8?), very old discussions, where someone wrote "10 LTSC (1809) would not check for PAE". I have never tried it but people on youtube managed to run Windows 10 on Pentium 4...good luck! Maybe someone else can explain.
