    My CPU is Pentium G2010 so it doesn't support turbo boost

    @oddiebugs1

    I didn't exactly understand what you asking me. But it's a desktop PC not laptop

    Did you check which SATA port you are on yet? The guy also with an MSI in the earlier thread was on one of the higher ports, and it triggered the same problem.

    You are saying that fast startup tends to cause bad sectors???:confused:

    Motherboard model, who makes it, and the model number. Your CPU isn't one of the models that needed a new micro code update for win 10 so that's good. But this problem can be related to a BIOS/UEFI, so I wanted to see what your BIOS is and look at the updates.

    Sounds like they were using the addon controller like a Asmedia or Marvell, because any of the 6 or 2 Intel ports do not matter, and are only recommended to use first Sata 1 port for boot speeds.

    Sleep mode is always hit and miss depending on the PC. I truly despise it and automatically disable it on every build I make and force hibernation. Linux distros work great but on the same PC Windoze is terrible.

    I said on the first page
    Motherboard MSI Z68A-G43(G3), Bios version 5.2, latest on their site. I got motherboard with latest bios update.
    Checked RAM with MemTest86 no errors
    Also as I previously stated Hibernation works, and S1 sleep mode works without problems. Nothing was ever overclocked
    Only S3 sleep mode is the problem.
    HDD is on second SATA port, CDROM is on first, motherboard has two SATA3 ports and four SATA2 ports

    Now that's some good info. You didn't have the problem on 8.1 and then you went dual and back to 8.1 with problem on both. Let me look at you BIOS, if I don't see anything I'll extract it and look at SMBus and S states. May take a while.

    LOL, sorry missed post #6.

    You don't put a DVD or CD on Sata 3 port one, it should be on Sata 2, HDD or SSD drives, Boot and storage should only be on the two Sata 3.

    I searched whole Internet and finally fixed it. I changed following in BIOS:
    Disabled EIST, though not sure if that helped, switched from IDE to AHCI, some forums mention to disable C1E but was disabled already, also disabled Internal PLL overvoltage which didn't helped but found on forums that is best to be off if not overclocking. Also disabled USB Legacy. And installed latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver, though from station-drivers.com latest version 12 for my chipset. That worked. Didn't have to switch DVD reader to SATA2 port.
    But I know that S3 sleep worked before on IDE, and now it BSODS.
    So the problem is S3 sleep on IDE mode??? Does someone have any clue, for why it's happening in IDE.
    Edit:
    Also on IDE it needs like 10 or more seconds before turn on screen then about 10 more before BSODs. On AHCI is instant wake without crashes
    Edit 2:
    Confirmed that is only IDE problem with S3. Just enabled back EIST and still no BSOD on AHCI when coming from S3 state

    How to mark it as solved? Also do you know why this is happening only on IDE and only in S3 state? Is hardware problem or software?

    You didn't install the RST driver, that is a RAID driver and you don't have an array, you have the AHCI driver by Intel, and you should also do a CMOS clear and then set the BIOS to AHCI and install windows, but if you don't want to do it the best way, clean, then do a search for enabling AHCI with windows installed, you'll find a registry fix.

    Also, some times the MS AHCI driver is better than the Intel driver.

    Just edit your first post, you'll see the main title, add solved.

    @odiebugs1

    Actually there is better and safer way to enable AHCI from IDE when system already installed.
    1. Enable AHCI in BIOS, save settings and restart
    2. Boot your PC into SAFE MODE, and system itself will install default AHCI drivers and make appropriate registry changes

    Same method works if you want AHCI to IDE.

    Edit:
    Also oddiebugs1 do you know why won't work in IDE mode when it worked before?

    Yes because bad sectors occurred to me since Windows 8.0 when using fast startup. I didn't know what was causing them. Then I found about a two or three years ago an article on net that often hibernation can cause bad sectors to appear on HDD. And because I knew that new fast-startup(hybrid-boot) is like semi-hibernation, I disabled it and no bad sectors since then.
