Well, I'm not a professional but it looks like the SSD (and maybe SSHD) are faster than HDD and lots of people have it nowadays so I guess I'd buy one. I don't know if they last longer than HDDs on average or make the PC do less noise and get less hot, though. My PCs is making a lot of noise and getting hotter in the latest years (especially when I open some tabs in my browser or when restarting/shutting the PC off) so maybe a should buy a new PC (and with an SSD or SSHD, I guess) even if the HDD is not the culprit. Maybe I should buy a new external disk (and a SSD or SSHD). And are this program's reading trustworthy regarding external discs (it may say it's 100% healthy and some time after it may die or starting to have problems, at least) or just internal ones?

I never bought SSD so i don't have knowledge on their life. Usually SSDs are costlier than Hdds. As i read on internet about SSD, there is no clear idea about how long it lives. Some says 3 years and some says 5 to 10 years depending on usage. Finally its your call to buy one. Only hdds and CPU fans are reason for the sound. When you open more browser tabs, HDD and CPU must work faster which makes CPU fans run faster and fans make sound as they used more period of time. If you think you need a new PC then only buy. Otherwise you can spend money for SSD or HDD instead. Replace CPU fans and CPU case and power supply unit. Or you are bored with old PC , then replace everything.

I know they're more expensive so that's why I wanted to know if it payed off buying a SSD instead of a HDD. I have a laptop. And what about SSHDs? When booting from USB the PC does a lot of noise (even more than after opening some tabs) and it's very warm. Usually, it only lasts for some seconds and I also have it on other occasions, sometimes (when the PC is shutting off and restarting).

I was thinking that you got both PC and laptop. Now i understood that you were talking about laptop and refering it as PC sometimes. :p As i see it on web, its a 5 years old model and you used it maximum time like always on lappy. I like desktop PC more than a laptop. Time for you to buy a new lappy. Go for SSD or SSHD. I must look what is difference between them.

Sorry, maybe I should have always called it laptop. What do you mean by having used it maximum time? So, I should buy a new laptop (especially one with a SSD/SSHD) and not a new SSD/SSHD? On average, how long do laptops last?

Average life of laptop is 5 years. If you run it 10 hours a day , it estimates to 18,650 hours usage till now.
You said that hdd sentinel stats are 777 days on time. Again if you used it 10 hours a day , it estimates to 18,648 hours.

Total usage hours are almost same in both cases and so i concluded that you need a new laptop. Even the cpu is older in the laptop.

As per your hdd sentinel stats and things you explained , i suspect it is your hdd making the noise. Fans also do noise as you use laptop for few years. The increase of heat on laptop is also due to that fan not working correctly (expected revolutions per minute).

CPU is old , HDD is old and going to expire, fans life is over, probably battery life is also running out. So its time to get new PC or laptop.
