Nobody share the SMC.bin,becouse no one have it... for shure, or are too greedy to do it. I have a prog to edit bin block's, if some one share the bin I can edit the file for each computer... try to shera a smc.bin for hp 840 g1 for testing propuses. thanks on advance,
Hi Guys, My first post here, as after much reading and no success with so much time wasted.. I have a HP Elitebook 840 G2 (SKU = G8R92AV) which has no bios pass but would like to mod S/N and UUID Is this possible without doing any external bios reprogramming? I'm quite happy to dump bios etc, I tried MPM unlock with SMC.bin (file bundled in 'NbDmifit') but getting SMC command failure, now I realize it is unique to each S/N UUID. Thanks Daz

Just got answer from HP Support that they will not solve any password issues any more: "A forgotten BIOS password cannot be reset by HP. HP is committed to the security and privacy of our customers. To resolve a forgotten BIOS password issue, a system board replacement is required, and additional customer costs apply.". It is a pitty, because 3 months ago I had the same problem and they sent me an SMC file.
they were handing out smc bins like candy in halloween. . make backup.bin with a hardware programmer and i can clear
