Ordered a new Motherboard today hopefully this will resolve my problem ? Will keep you posted after fitting.
Have ordered and fitted a replacement motherboard it does now boot up and work and I can get into setup. However on the boot up it states invalid product and serial as it loads each time I guess the serial number for the PC must be tattooed to the board / bios ? Can anyone advise me how to rectify this please ? Lenovo have no support / bios / tattoo program available so I was hoping somebody maybe able to provide me with access to the required Tattoo /Bios program if thats whats required here ? If I go into the bios the info says invalid where the make / model / serial is so somehow this info needs updating. I assume the Lenovo service centre have a bootable disc they use of course they are not going to share this with me ? regards
Hi thanks for the suggestion interested to know how this could be achieved ? I have backed up the bios from the working new motherboard using universal bios backup toolkit ( it backed up a rom file ok ) wondered how I would then actually flash the old motherboard ? remember I cannot access the bios or boot from this motherboard the motherboard does have the cmos jumper to do a block boot recovery but not sure how using either a cd or usb you would start the flash from this rom file ? many thanks
