Hello, someone solved the problem with the firmware on the y740 17ichG laptop I killed it with undervolt, the firmware via ch341a did not lead to anything other than a lit port display indicator, what should I do?
inno extract is crashing, it will not open. the dialogue box just disappears. am i missing something. please help someone
Thank you so much for all of the info you've given so far. It has pushed me a lot farther than I could have gone on my own. I'm currently stuck though. My 17iCHg has a Winbond chip. It is a W25Q80EWSSIG, but based on what I've seen this means it's an 8Mb chip. Whenever I load up my programmer (using IMSProg on Linux Mint, all software up to date) the program states it is a 1Mb chip. Am I doing something wrong? Is this indicitive of the chip being bad? Also using your method makes a 16MB file. If my chip is 8Mb, using this method doesn't fit on the chip. Sorry, I'm learning, but new at this. Thank you for any help!
Sorry for the late reply as I don't check the forum regularly. I'm not sure about your model but remember that a motherboard may have many ic which may look similar. If one of the ic has marking with 128 in its part number, then most likely the method described in this post will work. Otherwise, you have to find if the original bios file is itself smaller and that's the reason the ic size is also smaller, if it is the case then you can try the offset if they are same.
I found these filenames in the bios in hxd just copy the bios file multiple times and rename them all & try FN+R at boot. For ideapad 110-15ACL the filename is 1QCrisis.bin & for ideapad 320-15abr is 5QCrisis.bin. seed.bin 32bios.bin 64bios.bin BIOS.fd me.bin FD_m.bin ME_m.bin
Have exactly the same issue with the same model machine (Y740-15IRH) - Tried the provided instructions as written with a couple of different BIOS versions (the old v1.06 , v1.10 and the newest v1.12) - They all flash and verify with no issues, but the same symptom persists.
