When installing Win 7 there is usually already at the beginning the problem that one needs to use mouse or/and keyboard, but neither USB connection will work, I assume the driver is missing. Is there a way around that problem? How will that work? Thank you
On my particular system, there is an option in the BIOS/UEFI to enable PS/2 emulator. Enabling this will make USB mouses and keyboards to be recognized as PS/2 devices. I needed to have it enabled when I installed Win7 until the USB drivers were properly installed.
I admit I never heard of that, probably mine is too old. I have MBR all the way... Last time I installed Win 7 from a disk was long ago, and I cannot remember, how I did that.. I just checked the backside of the computer and there is a purple socket, so I probably need and adapter to USB for that....
If your system is too old, then USB should work with Win7's generic drivers. Make sure USB Legacy Devices (or anything similar) is set to Auto or Enabled in the BIOS.
Any chance that you system has only usb3 ports? In that case you need to add drivers for usb3 in the installation media. (I assume you tried every single usb port and didn't work)
Yes, no problem > https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...tack-for-windows-7.81934/page-17#post-1825898 You also need to do the same for install.wim - for Index which you want to install.
Just learn deploy instead of setup. (even better deploy on a vhd rather than messing with partitions) Then add your USB3 drivers using dism /add-drivers, then reboot and enjoy. Not sure why here on MDL everyone likes to do things like we where in 1990s, when we have deadly simply means to do things.
Thank you all, problem has been solved. Sorry, I could have anbswered that yesterday, but the boot chaos prevented me. Thank you all again....
